Title: Infernal Affairs III Review
Ah_M - February 18, 2004 01:24 PM (GMT)
Anyone seen it yet?
Just got it yesterday and didn't think it was as bad as most people were saying. Again, superbly filmed but the storyline was alright, pretty much the same opinion as for the first IA. Plus points for seeing Leon in a suit and glasses  Very differnet role for him indeed.

Yes, I enjoyed this movie. The plot is better than most "predicatable" and "corny" HK movies. The flashbacks might be confusing for many people, but as long as you keep track of what happened in the past AND present, and then piece together all the information u got at the end of the movie, it should make sense. I understood the movie the first time I watched it.
Luckily Leon didn't have LESS than 5 minutes of scenes like some people said earlier, which scared the heck out of me. And u must admit, Leon is the most handsome guy in that movie. Also, I love his clothes and just his entire "look". Definitely looks like a model! I love him the best in black suit and sunglasses!

I just happened to be in HK during the premiere, so I got a chance to go see it.... Leon looked very serious with the suit and glasses in the movie (not use to seeing him like that). Overall, the movie might be a little confusing for some with the flashbacks, but if you have seen the previous parts, you should be able to piece it all together..... In the end, I just didn't like the way Leon's character turned out..... Not call for....

I just received my IA3 dvd today! Im planning to watch it on Friday!!! So excited. Reading through what you lot posted, it sounds like a Leon film not to be missed.
Cool! B)

Sorry, but i'm one of the fans who opt to not purchase IA3. It's a pretty crap movie if one has never seen the two other movies, so it'd be a waste of money overall.
but the installment, itself, was the best one out of the three. Leon had more than 5 minutes of screen time but no more than 15. blah. Even in the director's cut, I felt that there weren't enough scenes of him. His character was just way too cool. ^^x Loved the suit and glasses as well!!

I totally disagree with qhettocow. I watched it the other night and I thought it was really good.
I didnt enjoy IA 2 as much as IA and IA3. IA and IA3 are such good thrillers. Leon's character is so mysterious, it gives the audience a sense of confusion and indecisiveness about his character and whether he is a good guy or just another mole. A lot of scenes in IA3 fits into what we have come across in IA. These two films are truly amazing. I would recommend people to watch IA if they want to know more about the storyline of IA.
Top film!!! hehehehe....top films!
Oh I love the music in the films too.

is IAII needed in order to understand III?
Elly - February 22, 2004 10:01 PM (GMT)
I dont really think watching IA2 is essential, because it is more about how Ming and Yan became undercover, basically how it all started. There is a big story in IA2 about the young Ming and Yans, but I dont really think, its a deffo film to see to be able to understand IA3.
IA3 has lots of flashbacks of what happened before IA. IA2 tells how it all started ....with Ming and Yan before cadet school and in cadet school and how did Ming and Yan come to their positions in IA.
Anyway enjoy! I certainly did. :P

Well I watched the first half-heartedly and skipped the second but understood the third so it's probably OK :D But I heard IA2 is quite good.
5 minutes screentime was fairly exaggerated, that would make Carina and Sammi's appearance half a second (oh maybe it was :P)
This episode was probably made just to make more money so I actually quite admire how they managed to sqeeze so much out
Was questioning whether to buy this since they cut Leon's scenes in the theatrical version grrrrrr... but finally got it, should've just got the VCD though...
Sigh Tony Leung is in London as I type this...:(
