Description: Talk about the Soap in here

LianneLuvsBrian - January 15, 2005 08:50 PM (GMT)
Zoe seems to have inherited her mum Kat's aptitude for making a right pig's ear of her life, but lying that she's pregnant, in a bid to keep Dennis by her sid, is one of her most stupid moves ever. Now. She's feeling the strain of living a lie and, to make matters worse, this week, dirty old Den is pushing her to sleep with him again.
It's all too much, and Zoe's at breaking point. 'Zoe is Den's Puppet, He pulls the strings and she does what he says.' But when he offers to sleep with her again, she's sickened. 'She's being such a fool. She's really unhappy because Dennis is treating her badly, but he's just not in love with her. The only reason he's stayed with her is because he believe's that she's pregnant.
'She's not of course, but she's so desperate, she feels she has to concieve somebody else's child instead - and that's just adding to her problems. If she does end up pregnant with Den's Child, that would be dreadful - he baby would be Dennis's half-brother!
'Zoe needs to find the strength to tell Den to slink his hook. She's feeling weak and vulnerable and he has all the power. But there's no reason for her to give in and do as he says.'
Den, however, is an arch-manipulator and he keeps piling the pressure on. He's taking advantage of Zoe's desperation. Having already slept with her, he pushes again for a repeat performance.
'She's repulsed by Den and doesn't want to go to bed with him, but can she walk away?' says Michelle.
Confused and Vulnerable, Zoe agrees to give the idea of getting pregnant by Den one more go, before confessing to Dennis that there is no baby. But the chance to explain herself is dramatically snatched away when Dennis discovers exactly what his girlfriend has been upto - with explosive and devastating results...
'The situation comes to a head. It couldn't carry on without something happening,' says Michelle.
'It's a strain living a lie. Zoe is making a real mess of her life. In her heart of hearts, she realises that it's never going to work with Dennis. She knows that she's lost him. It's over.'

In the short time since arriving in Albert Square, Jake and Danny have got in quite a bit of bother. And, this week, they end up making a very dangerous enemy. The boys are desperate to build bridges with cousin Alfie, and Danny's pleased when he gets some watches from Mo and passes them on to Alfie to sell on his stall.
'Danny has no idea that Mo's been set up by Andy and that the watches are dodgy,' explains Jake Maskall who plays Danny.
;The want to help Alfie,' says Joel Beckett, aka Jake 'and keep the Moon's together.'
But when the market inspector shuts down Alfie's stall because he thinks he's flogging dodgy goods, it seems Alfie won't be trusting his cousins again for a while.
Danny turns to Mo for the truth and is straight on to Andy.
'He gets Andy up against a wall,' says Joel, 'But Jake stops his brother from using his fists.' That is until Andy makes a sly comment about Danny and Jake lays him out.
'That's when the psycho side of Jake comes to the surface. Jake will go so far but, if the line is crossed, he will turn brutal,' warns Joel.
Andy's soon plotting revenge... Not good news for the Moon brothers but great for the two actors, who admit the buzz of working on Eastenders hasn't yet worn off.
'Being a fan of the show, you come in and find youself having lunch with Dirty Den and Little Mo,' says Joel. 'You think, "This is surreal, i'll wake up in a minute."'

Billy can't hide his feelings at Freddie's christening and thinks talking to Mo's rapist might help; and Patrick confronts Andy about Paul's disappearance.

Seems Andy's picked on the wrong Moon to play hard man with. Alfie may be a soft touch but his new-in-town cousins are made of tougher - and far rougher -stuff.
So when Danny finds out it was Andy who set up Alfie with Dodgy watches to sell from his new market stall, he doesn't think twice about letting his fists do the talking.
But just when Danny's got Andy up against a wall, Jake arrives and stops his fun. He pulls Danny off and appologises to Andy...But that's when Andy pushes his luck too far. Unable to resist a sly dig he instantly discovers Danny and his brother are two of a kind as Jake knocks him into next week with a perfect left hook.
But if you think Andy might have learned his lesson, forget it! Only he's going to make sure it won't be him getting his suit dirty next time....

Shown on Fri 21st Jan 2005

Ever since Zoe's Christmas Day baby bombshell Dennis has been trying to do the right thing by her. True he hasn't done it that well - they're not getting on and he's not making love to her. But give him a break, the man's suffering from a broken heart over Sharon.
And what Dennis Certainly does not deserve is the biggest soap 'yuk' of all time.
For as we all know and he doesn't, the whole baby thing is nothing but a big fat lie concocted by his dear dad to keep him and 'princess' Sharon apart, and his dear girlfriend who just wants to keep him - at any cost.
And the conspirators have taken cheating to a whole new level and are actually having sex to try to make a baby before Dennis wises up.
So imagine the worst that could happen next, times it by a zillion and what do you get?
'Dennis catches Zoe and Den in bed' reveals Nigel Harman who plays Dennis. 'It's horrible. To discover your girlfriend and your father are cheating on you is about as sick as it gets.'
But while Den is only worried about his own skin and stopping Dennis telling Chrissie, Zoe's still in La-La Land.
'She tells Dennis she was upset because he seemed to want a baby more than he wanted her,' says Nigel. 'Then she says that she thought if she fell pregnant by Den then Dennis wouldn't have to know she'd lied and she, Dennis and the baby could be a family...As If!
'From the moment he catches her with his dad that's it,' says Nigel. 'Zoe didn't have much of a chance with Dennis but whatever he may still have felt for her is gone. It's totally over.'
That alone will be punishment enough for Zoe but what has got planned for Den? will he tell Chrissie?
'That's what Den is terrified of,' says Nigel. 'He chases after Dennis to try to stop him.'
And when we next see Dennis heading for Walford Station the big questions are: Has Den succeeded and where is Dennis going?
'All Dennis can think about now is Sharon and that if it hadn't been for the dreadful lie he'd be with her now. So he's going after her.
'She's gone to New York and that's where Dennis is heading. Nobody can stop him now - or so he thinks,' explains Nigel.
Only someone does catch up with him at the last moment - Chrissie! And she wants him to tell her everything...
Nigel is having a few months off but he will be coming back. And while he's away we can reveal that Den will live to regret that he ever cheated on his own son...
