THE body of reggae legend Bob Marley is to be dug up and re-buried in Ethiopia.
Dreadlocked Marley was buried in Jamaica in 1981 but followed the Rastafarian religion which calls Ethiopia heaven on Earth.
Now Cuban-born wife Rita is preparing to move his remains to the African nation.
She said last night: “It would be Bob’s 60th birthday this year. The time is right to bring his body to Ethiopia.
“Bob’s whole life is about Africa. He has a right for his remains to be where he would love them to be. Ethiopia is his spiritual resting place.”
Mum-of-six Rita, 59, said Ethiopian officials had agreed to the funeral, which she hopes to hold this year.
Marley sold more than 20million records before his death from cancer — including his 1977 hit Exodus, with the chorus: “Exodus, movement of Jah people”.
Why on earth is he gettin reburied? Isnt it nice enough where he is?
