Title: The first warhammer model I painted.

I painted it over a year ago, but I thought I may as well post it here.

Below you will see a mounted High Elf mage.

I'm sorry if the image quality isn't very good, but this is the first time I've ever photographed a model.

So anyway, please tell me what you think, and don't try to spare my feelings :D

Well, the painting is pretty neat, but the model could do with some washing and highlightning :).

That's a bit beyond me. I drybrushed the runes on the sword and the horse's tail etc and it turned out ok, but I tried to inkwash the barding and it didn't turn out very well.

All I really want is for it to be neat. Thanks for the tip though, I'll be sure to try it in the future.

It looks really good for a first model. And I can sympathise with not drybrushing/washing - I'm a pretty terrible painter myself.

That's about my level of painting: looks good from afar, but not much in the way of details. Anyway, what matters is the overall appearance of your army: you better have all your units painted like that than just one or two units that are superbly painted and the remaining five units only undercoated.

I like to paint, but not enough to spend two hours per man-at-arms.

I spend way too much time on my models :D . Will try to get some pics up of my VC army that I´ve been using lately ^_^ . Using inks isnt hard, even though I usually highlight my models from a dark undercoat.

I take forever to paint mine, and then they aren't even a very high quality. But I'm not going for any Golden Demons. Just the 1st place trophy!

You guys might even be seeing some of my dwarves soon...

:D Thank you, I was expecting everyone to say how bad it was.

<_< That was the hardest thing for me to do, drybrushing I picked up pretty quickly, but the inks are beyond me...

Also, I'm working on a terrain piece; a wood about 6 inch across capable of fitting a unit inside... for no special purpose... it's really basic but I'll post pictures when I finish it.

Then you should try layered highlights :). Start from a dark foundation and work your way up to a suitably bright highlight.
