My heart is forever to the Elves: be they high, dark or... wood (wait, that didn't make any sense), I like them all. And just like all true Elf-lovers, I despise Dwarfs.

But ironically, in the Pirates vs. Ninjas debate, I'm leaning to the side of the pirates, even though ninjas tend to be Elf-like and pirates have a Dwarfish style and behavior. My tastes sometimes appear contradictory...


Yay for Elven pirates!

I´ve always prefered elves over dwarfs. Although cool fluffwise and all, dwarfs game tactics doesnt really fit my style of play. I like the enhanced movement of elves along with nasty magic. So that´d be elves for me then B) .

Yeah but this poll, Tyrion, is about the fluff. After all one of the options was:

A tale of intrigue and betrayal and finally a schism how cool is that?

I'm the only person who's half-heartedly going for elves so far. I think both armies have their good points, but I prefer the fluff for the elves. Possibly because there's more of it and it's varied across the three armies.

Second marginal elf preference. While I do like the dwarfs fluff (it's the models and playing style that always put me off them), in warhammer they really don't have quite the same distinctiveness as a race that elves do. Dwarfs are, when you get down to it, very similar to humans whereas the the elves do have a kind of alien otherworldliness about them. Oh, and they get magic too ^_^

I think crude and ugly sums them up. Theres nothing distinctive about them except that they pretty much hate everyone for absolutely no reason.

And then there's a mishmash of themes. They're all heavily armoured and slow, except for trollslayers. They hate magic, except for runesmiths, who can still use magic except it's called something else. They are the best blackpowderers in the world, but really have no significant advantages over the empire (gamewise). It's like any theme or fluff they do have is quickly negated by something else in the list.

And the sad thing is that Trollslayers are by far my favourite part of the list, they just don't seem to fit with the rest of the army.

I know. All I said was that while beeing allmost equally good fluffwise, elves are more fun on the gaming table, thus giving them a slight advantage ^_^ .

ofc the stoic dwarfs are the best.i find them fantastic.
