Title: 5th Mortal List (1000pts)

9ine - June 8, 2007 06:01 PM (GMT)
Well, this is my fifth mortal chaos list in recently, but I've been needing some advice and stuff.

So...I've challenged my Brettonia friend to a 1000pts battle. He's using a "peasant army", which have decided means he dosent need a unit of Knights of the Realm or a BSB. Of course, he can only use Damsels.

So, I've been given 1000pts to battle 1000pts of WS2 patheticans. I mean...how could I lose? Could I? Help me out with this list...if it has flaws.

Exalted Champion of Chaos @ 134pts
two hand weapons; armour of damnation; mark of chaos undivided; general

Aspiring Champion of Chaos @ 154pts
great weapon; hand weapon; chaos armour; mark of tzeentch; lvl 2 wizard; lore of change

14 Warriors of Chaos @ 216pts
hand weapons; shields; heavy armour; mark of chaos undivided; musician

16 Marauders of Chaos @ 133pts
great weapons; hand weapons; light armour; musician

6 Marauder Horsemen @ 90pts
spears; hand weapons; warhorses; musician

12 Horrors @ 180pts

6 Chaos Furies @ 90pts

997pts

C&C required ^_^

An army like that won't be hard to beat. ^_^
You'll need Fear-causing stuff (I see you already have some). Possibly even Terror-causing, if you can. Force your opponent to make as many Ld tests as possible.

Against Bretonnian peasants, you won't need any attacks over S5, but you must focus on your number of attacks. That's why it was a good choice to give your exalted champ two hand weapons: 5 S5 can wreak havoc against men-at-arms.

You'll have a lot of success with Chaos Warriors: you get hit on a roll of 5+ against men-at-arms' crappy WS2. be careful with your Marauder Horsemen: they're vulnerable to long-range missile fire. Also keep your Horrors well protected. Remove 3-4 Furies to save some points and send the unit against the Trebuchet your opponent will surely have. And with the saved points, get yourself some more Chaos Warriors.

One last thing: if you remove a Marauder, you can get a banner for the unit.

Edited the list slightly. The Chaos Warriors are now 14-man, there are only 6 Furies, and the Marauder Unit has an additional Marauder. I decided to go for numbers instead of a banner.

I can tell you the additional Marauder won't make much of a difference. With a banner, at least, you have an assured +1 CR.

It's all up to you, of course.

Actually Ive noticed a miscalculation of points in the unit of Marauders.

I would use screamers instead of horrors. Itīs great to have two flying units :).
