Wood elves from the glade of Loec army 1000p
Wardancer noble: annoyance of netlings 130p
10 Glade guard: 120p
10 Glade guard: 120p
5 Glade riders: musican 129p
5 Glade riders: 120p
8 Wardancers: champion 158p
8 Wardancers: champion 158p
8 Wardancers: champion 158p
Total: 993p
This is my idea for a themed army. Frankly to be said the army is hideously effective aswell. All units are there for a purpose. Glade guard rain arrows upon the enemy as the wardancers make their way into position. The role of the glade riders is to lure the enemy units into advantegeous positions, baiting. The noble is great for dealing with enemy characters due to the netlings and can even deliver a killing blow where itīs needed or just simply knock down rank-and-file troopers :).
What do you think? I have come up against something similar at a 1500p tournament, but that army also included a treeman and an altered kindred running around in tandem. My beastmen got totally creamed over  . Wardancers are fantastic  .

That seems good enough, but for your wardancers, I would take musicians instead of champions. If you want to stick to your current army, you still have enough points to at least give a musician to one of your units of archers.
But you have nothing over S4... I know it's difficult to get powerful attacks in a WE army unless you take Treemen and Treekin (which wouldn't fit your theme), but I'm pretty sure you'll have a great deal of trouble against blocks of infantry with a high Toughness (like Orcs, Dwarfs, Saurii and Chaos Warriors).

I wouldnt know about that. The amount of attacks I have should more than enough make up for the lack of strength I have. I have seen what two units of wardancers have done to a unit of bretonnian knights. I dont see what difference a musican can do to a glade guard unit, but sure, I could take one. :)

+1 to rally tests, perhaps? Even at Ld8, they can flee easily. Especially if I'm the one who rolls the dice (I'm probably cursed when it comes to panic or fear tests).
And you never know when an unit of archers may be called to fight in close combat. It happens more often than some tend to think, y'know.
As for your amount of attacks, I'm a bit dubious. You strike fast and accurately, but your number of attacks is not staggeringly high. I guess that'll have to be enough.

Well, there is the +1 attack dance which effectively gives each wardancer 3 attacks and the champ gets mighty 4 so I would say that the numbers are there :) .
I also know that a musican grants +1 to the rally tests, but once they get into combat, they usually die anyway and something has gone wrong.
Oh and about the treeman, wouldnt many people find a treeman at 1k a bit cheesy?

Theres a reason for unit prices tyrion. That counter acts the cheese in my opinon. Would you find it cheesy to field a giant in 1000 points? I wouldnt find it cheesy.

No, but then again there is a helluva difference between a giant and a treeman :). If what you say is true, then there wouldnt be any cheesy armies out there. They have been paid for in points after all.
Though a treeman is a very effective addition to any wood elf army, but he would take up a huge part of the army.
