Title: 1000pts Mortals
9ine - May 29, 2007 10:16 AM (GMT)
I worked this out yesterday, it's a force I'll probably use in Nemesis Crown. It'll take about two months to achieve, leaving about a month to game with it in Nemesis Crown. I'll be playing a low-numbered High Elf Army and a High-numbered Night Goblin force.
Exalted Champion @ 134pts
2 Hand Weapons; Armour of Damnation; Chaos Armour; General.
Chaos Sorcerer @ 110pts
Lore of Death; Magic Level 1; Chaos Armour; Dispel Scroll.
12 Chaos Warriors @ 210pts
Hand Weapon; Shield; Heavy Armour; Full Command.
12 Chaos Warriors @ 234pts
2 Hand Weapons; Heavy Armour; Full Command.
4 Chaos Knights @ 132pts
Hand Weapons; Shields; Heavy Armour; Barded Chaos Steeds.
12 Daemonettes @ 180pts
1000pts
So, how will it fair?

Not sure if you are allowed to do this  I though the minimum unit size for these guys was 5?
The rest of the army seems fine, albeit a bit slow.

I like it, but then most of the Chaos lists I like people hate.
Most people are going to say that it is too slow. I don't. You have your unit of knights, and the faster then normal deamonettes. That should give you an advantage over most other armies speed wise. The warriors might take a little longer to get there though, so maybe invest in having your sorcerer trying to get a movement spell, either by getting a second level, or by choosing a lore with it as is 1 choice.
Those are some of my general suggestions, oh and a horse for your General. So he can chill with his knights and run around a lot faster.

Ok. And the minimum for Knights is 4, not 5. As far as I can remember...
Where do you suggest I get the extra points for the horse?

Yes, it's indeed 4. They're pretty expensive after all.
Infantry-based Chaos armies are not seen often, but I'm sure it can be pretty good, as long as you don't fight an artillery-heavy army. In which case I would recommend taking a small unit of Furies.
Your sorcerer appears to be a dispeller rather than a caster. I'm not sure it's necessary in 1000 points: mages are very expensive because they can cast spells, so a dispeller is not cost-effective in small games.

Why units of 12? Not a very wieldy number under seventh edition, unless you have a Master PlanTM. I'd say fiddle with those a bit ... maybe one unit of fifteen and one of ten would be better.
Other than that, it doesn't look half bad. I'm not sure about the sorceror ... as @ztech says, it looks a bit expensive as a scroll caddy, but then you aren't going to get a scroll caddy that's cheaper (unless a bray-shaman is cheaper, I don't know).
