Secret history of Peotre Thorgrimson of the Blackwater clan

-1136
Peotre, son of Thorgrim and a nephew of Kadrin Redmane, leads a rescue expedition from Karak Varn to the shore of Black Water where the mule train of Gromril ore got ambushed by orcs. Peotre’s father had joined Redmane’s transport because he was the highest ranking Thane at that time. Peotre found his father and his uncle slain on the shore of Black Water serounded by death orcs.

A ranger reported that the orcs resposible for this ambush where camping by the river 5 miles east of them. Peotre turnded his expedition army east towards the river and matched towards the greenskinns. Peotre and his warriors knew that they where outnumbered and tired from the long march to Black Water but they where stubborn, they would collect the grudge that night.

The dwarfs fought fierce and many greenskinns fell under their axes and hammers. But the orcs where to many. When the sun rised the remaining dwarfs had been pushed back to the lake. The fight got to its end when Peotre, the last dwarf standing recieved a lethal thrust in his stomach. Covered in blood Peotre fell to the ground.

Still alive but unable to do something, Peotre witnessed a throwing contest. Each orc that participated collected several dwarfs, dead of dieing. The intention of the game was to take a dwarf by the beard and swing him around and letting him losse at the right time making the helpless (or dead) dwarf fly into the water of Varn Drazh. Whomever threw a dwarf the longest way into the water, won. Peotre was the last one to go in.

A ghost Dwarf army? Awesome!

2 questions, though: by Thorgrim, do you actually mean Thorgrim Grudgebearer, or another Dwarf named Thorgrim? Secondly, is this King Alrik the same special character from the previous Dwarf book (the Shieldbearer guy)? If so, then is is death official GW fluff?

Burro Boskov - May 17, 2007 05:33 PM (GMT)
No he is not the same. He speaks of High King Alrik, who was officialy killed as writen in Black Water Fall. King Alrik of Karak Hirn is someone completly different, and is the shield bearer guy from the last book.
