I like the tone colour but the sword is a bit funky. Could be the model I dunno.

He informs me its the model. He says that he bought it off someone who treated his warhammer with even less respect than he does.

Oh well, its a nice model. I like the off at a distance look the best personally. If you could just tweak the sword it would be perfect in my opinion. What army do you play by the way? I realize your friend is VC.

gaurdian_of_the_citadel - April 13, 2007 09:09 PM (GMT)
High Elves, Wood Elves, and Dwarfs. My friend (Mork-and/or-Gork) plays OnG, and VC.

Creepy...

Your friend has managed to create a nice effect with as few colors as possible. My congratulations to him.

Thanks. And thanks guardian for posting these under your account while I was messing around with my password <_<

I appreciate the praise!

Yay! New members! Welcome to warhammer palace :). Looks good for a first model, certainly better than my first model I painted eons ago . Maybe you could bend that sword a bit? I know I did that on my model :).

Personally I'd replace the sword personally, and stretch the old converting muscles a little bit. Looks like someone's taken an old plastic Chaos warrior sword and cut it to make a serrated edge, but it doesn't really look like it belongs on the model. The main problem being that the pommel and the blade don't line up at all.

Personally I'd remove the sword altogether and add a dagger or some such at his belt. Then it shouldn't be too tricky to reposition the arm slightly and make it holding a book, which is easy to make out of green stuff and plasticard. You could even attach it to his belt by chain, like just about everything else he's carrying, if you wanted to be really fiddly. That'd make it a proper grimoire like, oh I dunno, the Book of Arkhan or some other Cursed Book. All depends on what bitz you have available of course.

That, and a bit more highlighting on the cloak, and it'd look pretty spiffy! ^_^

Cheers,
DLJ

actually it is the basic model, with no conversions. And to clear something up, not my first model painted, my first undead painted. I have 5000 points of OnG, with about 2000 points painted.

I like the sword: can't even see what's wrong with it. It looks very beaten up, but then necromancers aren't the "shiny silver sword" types anyway.

KingTut - April 14, 2007 06:46 PM (GMT)
But in my book necromancers arent the "oh look while I was searching for dusty tombs I found this spiffy looking blade, shame about the handle though, oh well at least I can swing it" they would definately want a more comfortable sword. Again in my opinon
