I've played them a while ago and i lost. Skirmishers, fast, shooting its a pest army to fight againsed with dwarfs. This is the only army I fear when I'm playing with my dwarfs.
Has someone fought them and won, and how?
Our Ancestors gave us the Organ Gun and Thunderers just for this purpose. Use them to effectively decimate skinks, terranadons, saurus cav, and chameleons. Cannons are best used for popping Toads and killing their biggies. The trick to defeating lizzies is to get them into combat where I have found dwarves with shield and hand weapon have the advantage. I agree though Lizzies are tough especially if they take lots of Salamanders they are little organ guns with M6 essentially but they are their only heavy shooting. Top of the target priority list is the Nike Saurus it will wreck your war machines if you don't watch out.
One thing I would have to add, is that they dont have ignore little un panic kind of rule which is common in other armies. This means that it might be worth getting some skinks panicing. If they set up a skink screen to protect a different more important unit, make them flee through, causing the other unit to take a panic test. Sure they are coldblooded, but make them take enough tests...

Warmachines and shooting (especially thunderers) IŽd say too. Dwarf infantry is more than capable to go toe-to-toe with saurii. Watch out for flanking kroxigors, those S7 attacks really make a dent in armour. Entrenched warmachines could be effective aswell. Flamecannons and organ guns should work :).
