Title: Happy Saint Patrick's Day!
Thragka - March 17, 2007 09:52 AM (GMT)
It's time to celebrate another pointless holiday in the name of somebody who didn't actually exist (hic), so happy Saint Patrick's Day, everybody (hic)!
Let's get (hic) ossified!

Note that the preceding was a joke. I am, like most Irish people today, perfectly sober. It's everybody else that takes it too seriously. We Irish know that we're great, so we don't have to celebrate as much as everybody else paying us tribute.

I as an Irish-American plan on being quite drunk today as I started at 11 a.m. with a half and half (Harp and Guinness poured in layers to the uninitiated) I don't plan on stopping till 1 or 2 in the morning since work is cancelled tomorrow due to snow!

I, as a red-haired person (though I'm not Irish, as far as I know), absolutely hate beer. But I happen to be wearing green today (I didn't even know it was Saint Patrick's day when I put this shirt on). I wish a happy Saint Patrick's day to all Irish people.

I was at a friend's 21st: which means free champagne and beer, but many many flash photos being taken.
I only had 2 drinks, but I pity the people who had more and kept being blasted in the face by flash after flash. Ouch, maybe I'm just a lightweight.

I forgot that it was St. P's day and did not wear any green. In my defence, I'm doing the preliminary readings for an essay on Tudor and Stuart Ireland (1590-1660 period specifically, so I'll also cover Cromwell). Surely that's very Irish of me?

Important Update:
A dozen beers and I tried to paint a warmaster highelf dragon and made a royal mess of that hahaha! Pro-tip: don't drink and paint!

Well, it's officially the morning after the night before, so I assume we're all sober, if hungover.

Pfff. Don't worry about it. The whole "Ha ha, you're not wearing green, I get to punch you now" thing is not something any Irish person would ever do. I only discovered that certain other countries follow this obscure custom after leaving Ireland. I myself was wearing red and beige yesterday.
Besides, the colour green was only linked with Ireland after the legends of St. Patrick got around. Originally, our national colour was blue. Our symbol was also the heart, not the shamrock. Or so I am led to understand.

Heh, I can't stand my painting skills unless I am drunk. Maybe that's why all my models look so weird ...
