I really am in a bind I think a gyrocopter could really benefit my dwarf army as well as make it much more fun to play. On the other hand I am a dwarf background lover especially the more cantankerous dwarfs in dwarf society (ie. Longbeards, Slayers) who would never allow such an unreliable contraption grace the same battlefield (we are talking Karak Hirn, the most traditional minded of holds). How can I make these two competing desires agree on a single representation of the following:
Flyer, 4+ Armor Save, 3 W, 2 A, Strength 4, Breath Attack
Please help, I found one guy with a Eagle-rider which I put up there for completeness but I think that is really lame and I would probably not take a gyro over doing that.
You can choose your two favorite options in the poll.
Go with the dragon! To heck with other Dwarf players if they call you a no-good Elf lover (you should probably Grudge them for that anyway). The point remains, the conversion would look cool, and would be a cool symbol of your army's power.
Well, except that unlike a dragon, a Gyrocopter crashes at the tip of a hat. In this case, I guess maybe you should go with something more believable, like a Great Eagle.
If it's a 'drake' rather than a 'dragon,' the non-terror shouldn't be an issue. Depending on the conversion itself, you could easily avoid it looking like that weird elven 'taming' stuff. Chain it and make it clear the creature has been enslaved- this also helps represent the 'crashing,' which is more just the thing going berserk and then winging into the sunset.
Or something. Frankly I think you should stick to the fluff, but this seems to be the way you're leaning.
Take the Grudge Pony for Skull Pass, Make a riding place for one dwarf on the pony, set up a steamgun thing on the carriage and set a second dwarf on that. The pony leaps over other units, when proded. Howzat?
