Title: So... How have you all been?
Description: assuming anyone remembers me

Spire - February 26, 2007 10:07 PM (GMT)
Hello, me again.
It's been a while I know, but I thought I'd just drop by and see how things were going. (I notice I've missed another relgion debate).
2007 hasn't been exactly a great year for me thus far what with my computer fragging itself to hell and other more personal issues. I have also pretty much quit the hobby altogether, due mainly to financial constraints and a loss of interest.

But anyhow, how have things been for all of you?

Welcome back; I too must confess that the hobby and I have had little time for one another, but I still come here as part of a daily habit I refuse to break.

And hey, great news, there was a server crash that killed hundreds of posts!

Just like Luc, I haven't played Warhammer or painted any miniature for a while: ever since I've quit high school to go to college, I didn't get to see my Warhammer gang very often. And I don't have much time to play either.

But I love the Palace. I still come here several times a day, mostly because I like the people. But since Chili will be gone for the next three months or so, the board will lose its soul for a while... I hope the other members will stay active.

Hey man, I remember you. Good to see you back. You can add me to the list of hobbyists embittered and all but abandoning the hobby but still checking the forums.

I'll be hanging around even with Chili gone. Maybe I'll start writing up some Warhammer-themed wordsketches or something, just to keep stuff flowing. I dunno.

Im still here, and i have still have my warhammer spirit. We newer members (KingTut, Thragka and I) have joined for your vetrans knowledge and experience. Anyway, its good to have people here, even if the loss of Chili means we might lose some activity.

Just curious what exactly causes you to lose interest in the hobby? Lack of time/ opponents? or just get disinterested. This is happening to a friend of mine (not burro) and im curious of the cause. Also I plan to buy more mini's so i dont want to invest in something then lose interest.

There are a number of reasons really. Lack of oppoents was one, as was the increasingly limited amount of time I had to spend working on my armies. The price issue I can't overstress, especially after my three year-old sister carved a swathe of destruction through my painstakingly assembled and painted spearelves.

The lack of playing for me was because I over-played warhammer. It was too much a part of my life. I was checking a few boards daily, reading a lot about it and playing lots. So I stopped making such an effort to make it down to play every Thursday and it gradualy reduced. Then when I arrived in lovely Winchester there was only Games-Workshop to play at and I've never been a massive fan of playing at Games-Workshop. So I only really played when I was at home and during the summer I think I got in two or three games (due to girlfriend commiments and work). Things are now changing as I have started playing Gothic and my love for the game is being remembered. I've played two games since Sunday and I've got another game planned for Tuesday. My Slannesh Fleet shall be victorious! (one day)

Anyway, its nice to have you back Spire 'old boy!

Thragka - February 27, 2007 08:26 PM (GMT)
Hey Spire. I think that you were very briefly active when I first joined, but then you disappeared. I think I know you more from Rezephua than I do from here. Good to see you around.

Im all good :). 2007 hasnt been really anything that special so far, but I still have my intrest in the game. Played a game today so. Though there seem to be some dropouts at my gaming club  .

EDIT: Where did Chili go by the way? I must have missed something.
