Hi all.
I've decided to make a change from my usual Saurus-based forces and experiment with a different kind of list-- a Saurus-less army. To this extent, though, I mean no Saurus period: no characters, no Saurus Cav...nothing.
Oh yeah, and no Slann either, just....because.
REVISED LIST:
Skink Chief- Sword of Might, light armour, shield, Cloak of Feathers, Sacred Spawning of Sotek- 129 pts
Skink Chief- hand weapon, light armour, shield, Sacred Stegadon Helm-99
Skink Priest- level 2, 2 dispel scrolls- 150
Skink Priest- level 2, Diadem of Power- 135
Skink Priest- level 2, Cube of Darkness, Sacred Spawning of the Old Ones- 175
10 Skinks- blowpipes- 60
10 Skinks- blowpipes- 60
10 Skinks- blowpipes- 60
10 Skinks- javelins, Scouts- 70
10 Skinks- javelins, Scouts- 70
3 Kroxigor- 174
3 Kroxigor- 174
3 Terradons- 105
3 Terradons- 105
3 Salamanders- 195
Stegadon- 235
TOTAL: 1996
As you may have guessed, this list uses the Southlands rules to allow me 5 characters. Like all skirmishy Lizardmen lists, this army relies on its extreme maneuverability and poison-dart nastiness to wear the enemy down and/or give the opponent a seizure through sheer annoyance. The Krox and Stegadon are there to charge weak points, while the Terradons and FSOD are there to take out artillery, wizards, fast cav, skirmishers...the usual. The Skink Priest Council, meanwhile, will be laying down a steady volley of magic missiles to help out the Skinks and Salamanders in their storm of missile fire.
Any thoughts? Do you think this list would be acceptable for friendly play?

From a greenskin perspective, no way. There is no chance in hell that I would be able to deal with this list. But it may be worth bringing once, just to see the look on your opponent's face.
I don't have that much experience with lizardmen, but this looks good to me, even if it is particularly cruel. A skilled or lucky player might be able to do some real damage to the stegadon/krox before you get them into combat, however. I would be interested to see how this would fare against, say, a dwarf gunline army, or a wood elf list.
What exactly are you going to do with your general? You haven't given him a missile weapon, so I presume you are going to hold him back and try to protect him.
No, my general is going to hang with a random Skink unit and generate LD7 for his army. That's pretty much why I gave him the Stegadon Helm.
And as to the evil skirmishiness of the army...well, I agree, it is pretty tough. I just wanted to try something different when I experimented with a skirmishy list: most skirmishy Lizardman armies have a JSOD and possible Cold One BSB running around, along with an obligatory Huanchi-Bannered Saurus Cav unit, and/or a Slann hovering around independently. I wanted to make my list more unique by including none of those things (seriously, if you read tournament reports on The Warhammer Forum, you'd be surprised at how similar Lizardman armies begin to look after a while). That, and I like the theme of a Skinky army (though this does not mean I still won't be using lists that include Saurus in my games).
