hey,
King Tut, Burro Boskov and I are friends outside of the cyber world, and since my interest in 40k Tut has taken a liking to it aswell. I know he is thinking of collectiong SoB, now as a beginner I decided to but the Battle for Macragge, the tyranids just make me want to cry, so I decided to start up with SM's, I currently have a basic tactical squad, and a very nicely painted Varras (the wimp and fictional hero unit of the Battle for Macragge) I do however plan on getting the SM Megaforce to give myself a basic army, then I would like to specialize in some way, now to me that means add a venerable dreadnaught, or a whirlwind, or a Land Raider of some sort, though being a n00b (sorry it's the best desicription I could come up with) to the game, how would some more experienced players suggest I spend roughly 200 bucks on the megaforce plus a bit to specialize so I can give tut and his little SoB's (and by that I don't means Sisters of Battle) a run for their money? also after collecting a substantial SM army I do plan on putting my energy into eldar, just because I tend to do best with them in the Dawn of War game... they always have something to pull out of their sleeves. how might I be able to start collecting an eldar army, I'm the kind of person that doesn't mind having units that specialize in one area but are rubbish in others, that's really why I like the Eldar, I just always have to have something that I can pull out of my arse that will make the opponent go "awe f*ck, why now?" It doesn't necissarily have to win me the game, it just has to make the game interesting, and atleast "fun" on my behalf, though winning is a bonus. any advice?
First do you want me reading this topic or not
Second I would go with the Land Raider and a terminator squad. Land Raider because of its awesomeness factor and the terminators (assualt terminators mind you) as a nice surprise for whomever you may be fighting. I think we should see who else has armies in cairo before you decide to specialize your army against mine. I wouldnt mind playing the other 40Kers in our area with my army.
Third
There is no way you can win with eldar. Just give up, packup and go home and cry because Eldar Die if the "strategy" is upset.
And i know i just cheesed off a whole bunch of eldar players out there. besides my brother also wants a eldar army. Maybe he should collect his seperately....
EDIT
Fourth: Dawn of War is NOTHING like 40K go ahead Downloaded read the rulebook.. you will see.
