Merry belated Christmas and a happy new year, palacers!
Having spent the last few months in college, working hard on my studies and not so much on any form of painting and barely on sculpting, I decided it was time for me to put a good month of focus into a little fun around the “studio”, working to just complete some fun projects for myself and others. Along with this work, I figured I would also document my progress, mainly for the hell of it, here. If you’re interested in seeing what I get into for the next month, look no further. I’ll try to write daily, though I’ll probably update with less frequency than that. Just to recap what’s been going on in the past few weeks, here’s a rundown of the projects that have been going on in my workspace. Photos will be forthcoming.
Clean-up
The first and most pressing project that first came to my attention when I got home was the need to clean up my workspace- it was a mess! So, I got to work on that. My primary concern was cleaning the models off of my workspace and organizing them into their suitable locations, just so they wouldn’t be in my way while I worked. After a few hours, I accomplished this goal, along with organizing my paints, brushes, sculpting tools, and other modeling stuff that I use often into storage areas under my desk. In the future, I’m going to recreate my photo shoot area for the models, just so I can finally get some quality pictures for you all to see.
The Angel of Christmas
My biggest project at the moment is my biggest test in sculpting yet- creating a warhammer scale model of an angelic figure, making a mold of it, and then casting approximately 10 or so copies to paint and give to my friends when I get back to college after break. The sculpt itself is coming out quite elegantly so far, with billowing robes and simple gothic armour. I have been taking plenty of detailed photos of the model’s creation, and may write a guide to how I sculpted it once I have finished. Again, I will have photos of the WiP up soon.
Green is ‘da Bestest!
Along with the angel sculpt I am current working on, I’ve also decided to go through my massive amount of models and actually begin to paint them. The first set of models to first fall under the painting block were the orcs I own, compliments of the 6th edition starter set. While I have only started one five of the boyz’, I hope that I can eventually paint the entire regiment in the similar style.
Druchii Renaissance
Lastly, I have begun anew on my druchii army, having decided to completely rework the agents of the Dark Kin. Having spent months making new sketches for each of the types of models I could create, I’ve finalized the basic core troops, allowing me to begin wok on converting/sculpting parts and putting the models together. First, however, I will need to strip and clean some of my warriors, a event which hwill take their time…
For now, I will focus on getting pictures of my new Angelic sculpt up, with others coming up. Expect some pictures coming up tomorrow. Later.

I had never heard of that idea before... That's quite unusual to create your own model using a mold, but after all, your talent is unusual too: you truly are an artist :thumb: . How did you make the mold and what will the miniatures be made of?
Still working on the first sculpt, @ztech, though I'm hoping to be finished with it by Wednesday. For molding, I'll be using silicon rubber to make the mold, and some form of resin to make the casts.
Anyways, here's the picture oh how it's coming along at the moment, with a picture of the concept art along side it.

EDIT: if you would like to see how the progress of the sculpt has gone, you can find more pictures
here.
Sculpt is coming along: here is a picture of the model with sleeves and the wings I've started on:

That's awesome, Rogue...
You're really skillful with green stuff. The mini you're making is nearly as beautiful as the ones GW makes. Keep up this extraordinary work.
