Title: hey all, I have a question
Downloaded - December 3, 2006 06:57 PM (GMT)
who would win in a battle between the battle for macragge starter set units and two 4000 point fantasy armies? (the macragge troups on a team and the fantasy troops on a team so really 200 points of 40k infantry v 4000 points of fantasy mayhem.)

Depends... Do you follow the rules for Fantasy or 40K?
KingTut - December 3, 2006 07:14 PM (GMT)
fantasy hands down. You would be blased into oblivion by the mighty STEAM TANK! and comet of casandora combo. Picture this. After being run over by a tank then being incinerated by a gigantic comet. Or if you were playing the tomb kings A giant scorpion comes out of no where and rips you in half ^_^ But on a serious note. If we used your 40K rules about your models but used fantasy rules about armor saves. Then used fantasy rules for our warmongering hordes (movement range) and close combat was 40K rules.... Its a interesting concept that i would need to ponder but first one must have BOTH rule books.

yeah but I would only lose if I were a no0b, and I can't be a no0b with a professionally painted army can I? (that's right, I said it) Picture this. after having hit your crappy fantasy tank with a wrench a few times, and having it fall apart (due to inferior midevil mechanics), I would then superheat the metal with my flamers, throwing the glowing shards at the stupid little dwarves advancing upon me and setting their poor little alchahol filled beards aflame, while making the others iether very wounded or uncomfortable... then when I see that gigantic comet coming at me I simply side-step out of it's way or shoot it to smitherines with my explosive missle launchers and heavy bolters, then finally your pathetic scorpion will pop out of it's little hobo-hole, try to snap me in half only to realize that it's claws simple clang against my armor, possibly denting it with lady luck on his side, after he thinks "oh crap" I snap his head of and hit it "cricket-style" (bowling bowling) into his own ranks using his spinal cord as a bat. finally defensless and confused I send my gene-stealers in to the useless ranks of infantry to finish off the so called "unbeatable force".

ok, few things, scorpion would definetly break through the armour. The dwarf beards would not be covered in beer, that would have been sucked dry allready. Sure they might set alight, but that will only anger the dwarves more. even with this "side step" you cant side step a cannon ball. Getting into close comabt would be worse for you, becuase then you weapon advantage would be near out the window, axes can hit through power armour, given enough time.

And time is one thing the undead do have :fight:

Well if it is 4000 points of Fantasy i wonder who they can deal with the supertanks of 40k. I.e the Monolith, Baneblade, Landraider and several of the titans.
Am sure a lascannon shot would knock the armour down considering it is strength 9. Terminators having both their 2+ and 5+ save inv armed with lightning claws lets see how they deal with the emperor's finest.
Better yet time to bring in some chaos nastyiness the oblitors (Spelling) any weapon for the occassion.
Undead have all the time they need so does the Necrons, the c'tans have feed on on universes.

Magic can beat the super-heavies (it can do anything :D ), however I think fantasy has this one regardless. We are only looking at a few basic marines and tyranids here (macragge starter set), so 8000 pts of warhammer (around 7 dragons and a horde of troops) have them beat.
Just to clarify, this is a 'fluff' battle, not some insane hybrid of warhammer and 40k rules?

If i know downloaded, it will turn into a an actual battle.

Well we have magic and we have psychers. Our we can send the finest of our the imperials assassions i.e the Everseer, Vindicator, Calidus and the meany esp against (Magic users) culexous (Spelling).
You can guess am sticking to the side of 40k kinda however if it was the box set versus box set (i.e starter packs) i would still say the 40k will win. Missile launcers Space marine in power armour as good as armour as the dwarves. Tyranids with all there attacks. Genestears strength 6 and int 6 i can see them striking first quite alot.
