Title: POTM: Who converted you to Warhammer?
@ztech - November 30, 2006 07:12 PM (GMT)
Yes, I know "convert" is a strange word to use... As if Warhammer were a religion. Well, to many people (to me, at any rate), it is. But you may use "introduce" if you prefer.
I was converted to Warhammer by a classmate. He wasn't my friend at the time, but he just showed me the website of GW and I was instantly interested by the game (I was already a bit of a fantasy geek). Warhammer made us become friends. ;)

I converted myself to warhammer. I can still remember buying my first bullrider and dryad, without even knowing how the game was played ^_^ .

For me, it was Thragka who converted me. I in turn converted King Tut, and i owuldnt say Downloaded is converted yet, but we have made quite a start on him.

I'm sorry burro but you didnt convert me. My dad and i talked about getting WFB for a while. Its just this year we decided i was old enough to actually do the full aspect of the hobby while when i first heard of it i was only capable of playing.

A friend introduced me to the game back in fifth or sixth grade (that was a loooong time ago :P ). As many others I started off with 40k but I was always more intrested in fantasy and so started playing that instead :) .

My Little brother started a Skaven army so when I had helped him painting a little bit I decided to start a team for myself so I could beat him.

I feel proud to have been mentioned <sniff> thank you Burro <sniff> you don't know what this means to me ...
I was "converted" by a friend of my brother, in cahoots with my mum. Y'see, we were moving house, and my brother's friend (and his brother) collected the miniatures but never actually played the game, and my mum (without realising the financial obligations Warhammer presents) thought it would be a good way for us to keep ourselves occupied immediately after the move.
That was some four years and several hundred euro ago. ^_^
