I want to get the feel on the picture of the bigbook not a catchman typ of army.
Has somone a tanith first army? And do you know how to convert one?

Welcome to the boards, Grumbeard!

There are actually several Tanith models out... Gaunt, Corbec, Dorden, Milo, Bragg, Larkin and about 3-4 generic Tanith types. I believe there may also be some rules hanging about on the GW boards...

*toddles over to the GW site*

Here they are: http://uk.games-workshop.com/chapterapprov...aunts%2Dghosts/

If you're not keen on buying metal blisters to make a whole army, I think the catachan models are the best choice. All you need to do is sculpt the cloak and the models are basically the same as the GW tanith.

yes you are both right but i cant ordere the models and i hate the catchmans (orcs in pink). I want to get the feeling that you have in the big book. Slender sneaky and deadly. With those tanith first you would almost think that everyone of them could kill archaon.

Is there a reason you can't order the models? Even if you live in Australia (or some other similarly backward place), you can still order them from the British or American websites. If you don't own a credit card, I've yet to meet the parent/sibling/friend who won't mind you using theirs as long as you pay them the cash up front.

Catachan miniatures (while I'm not a huge fan) aren't so bad. They might be a little meatier than you would expect the Tanith to be, but the are plastic and therefore easily trimmed down. I'm also confident that once cloaks, gear and the rest are added that they'd look much less like President Schwatznegger.

Am I really the only one in this world who likes the catachans?

I have 80 of them and they look great :D

I agree Cadians should have been released first, but I still love the models.

A friend of mine loves the Catachans. *shrug* I used to dislike them more; now I'm indifferent.

It may sound strange, but how about eldar/ dark eldar?

fits the bill. mix them with a cadian box set, using the cadian heads, lasguns etc, with the frail eldar bodies. I would also look into the high elf archer command sprue, I love that cloak.

Actually, speaking of elves with bows and spears, why not look into wood elves? They come camouflaged, nimble etc, wouldn't look too bad.

Of course, I know nothing about the Tanith books, hell I don't read books to begin with.

A friend of mine is doing a tanith first army. I dont know anything about them since I dont play 40k, but he uses catatchan bodies, sculpts cloaks for them and uses warhammer heads for them (marauder, empire..human heads without helmets). they look pretty cool actually :)
