Title: Monster Mash
Description: Creating an uber Oldblood

As Infamous Wolfy mentioned in his post on the Skaven forum, the local GW is hosting a "monster mash" on the 13th in which you bring a 300-pt monster or Lord choice and duke it out in a mass melee. However, since I don't have a Stegadon or Carnosaur, it looks like I'm going to have to go with an Oldblood.

What combo do you guys suggest I use? I'm consider a combo of Spawnings of Tlazcotl and Quetzl, Blade of Revered Tzunki, Enchanted Shield, light armour and Aura of Quetzl. On the other hand, however, the sheer number of monsters means a Jaguar Charm would come in handy instead. What do you guys think?

Definitely go with the jaguar charm: you want to be able to choose your enemies, and you want to be able to get the charge on people.

The Aura of Quetzl is a must: that leaves you with 50 free points. My personal inclination would be a Great Weapon, or else the Piranha Blade (charge those monsters): Blessed Spawning of Sotek and Quetzl are probably good ideas, and Tlazcotl should definitely be in there.

Show them the terror of the Scaly Zebedee!

If you can go 3 points over, how about the following:

Saurus Oldblood
Sacred Spawnings of: Quetzl, Sotek, & Tlazcotl.
Sword of Might
Maiming Shield
Charm of the Jaguar Warrior
Aura of Quetzl
Light Armor

Total Points: 303. If you have to get exactly 300 or less, could just do the following: Change Quetzl to Tzunki (aquatic, not so useful, +1I, possibly useful, lets you not be dead last, at least), and give yourself a Great Weapon, just in case you need to pop chariots.

Gives you 2+ armor save w/ 4+ ward save against anything of > S4.
You're immune to psychology, and have a 9" move/18" charge.
You have 6 attacks at S6 on the charge + 1 attack at S5, all of which are Magic.

The < 300 pt variant, you only have a 3+ armor save, but get +1 I when you're not using the Great Weapon, and a Great Weapon for chariot popping.

Just hope hard you don't run into the following person:
Chaos Lord, Mark of Khorne, Chaos Steed, Axe of Khorne. 6 attacks w/ Killing Blow could be very ugly in such a tournament.

Alas, it turns out that I won't be able to make it to the monster mash anyway, as university doesn't allow for March Break. If I had been able to go, however, I think I would have taken the following combo:

Oldblood w. Burning Blade of Chotec, light armour, Enchanted Shield, Charm of the Jaguar Warrior, Aura of Quetzl, and Blessed Spawnings of Quetzl, Sotek and the Old Ones

This costs something over 300 points (but the points limit has been amped up to 350 anyway). He has a hefty 1+ armour save (0+ in close combat), 6 attacks on the charge, D3 rerolls, a 4+ ward against S5 or higher, and the Burning Blade. I chose the Burning Blade because (1) I would probably be facing plenty of heavily-armoured characters, and (2) it would come in really handy against the inevitable Treeman.
