I just wanted that tree man in my army, I wanted an alter noble and wanted wardancers for sure.
the treeman is an ancient because he provides LD 9 as a general(normally a general and a tree man are around 500 points now he is 375) and because I diddn't had enough rare choises. Spell singer for magic defence. Then I figured that I needed more combat units then the 2 wardancer units, so there they were: treekin and 24 dryads. On this stage the list was lacking in the disruption part, so I added an eagle, waywatchers, warhawks and glade riders. I want to add champions, but I don't know what to drop.
so what do you think?
Sadly, you're going to have to drop one of the rare units. A treeman ancient takes up a lord and rare slot.
Your magic defense is minimal, so you should make mage-hunting your priority. Also, I'd switch the orb for a second scroll, it's more usefull in general.
Getting a 4th treekin might be nice, it'll make them more resilient. It does make them slightly harder to manuever and more expensive though.
Edit: Don't worry about not getting champions in; the only units they're worth it is the wardancers, and then just barely.
Hope this helps.
I faced an army similar to this in a recent tournament. It had lots and lots of wardancers, treeman, 1 unit of dryads, alter kindred (fast one) and something else I cant remember.
really hard army to face, the treeman and the alter kindred ran around together and whatever they hit, they broke and ran down. wardancers are nuts aswell, so unless one is playing with a gunline army there wasnt much to do.
so this army should do fairly well, except maybe against gunlines :)
