Title: Tau Empire?
Description: What is GW doing........?

farsight - November 20, 2005 01:01 PM (GMT)
hi everyone,

i have looked on the UK GW news section on the web and have found that they have a thing called Tau Empire under the sneak peeks section, now what i am curious about is what are GW doing.

Tau were my first army and still my favorite, plus many of my opponents as i would charge fire warriors on the odd occasion ^_^ , but i am curious what this is.

from the looks of the image it looks like we are in store for some updates to the Tau as i see new stealth teams which, i normally dont say it, look rubbish. now i know i may often say new models are a good thing but these new stealth teams look like something of a transformers film or failing that large fridges holding guns.

come on at the moment Tau look great IMHO, why give them ugly new stealth teams i ask? the Vespid look nice mind.

http://uk.games-workshop.com/news/ hopefully this should work it's a link to the news section, click on sneak peeks for 40k and you shoudl see them.

*this is not a rant im just curious if anyone knows whats going on?

thanks in advance for any replies :thumb:

The simple reason? tau are getting a new codex, called Tau Empire, they decided to add the Vespids, a new insectoid like race and some of the previous forge world only models such as the Pirahna and Skyray, the Tau are kinda like Vampire counts were in 6th ed, released for the sake of having a new codex while only slightly updating the ranges and no major changes in rules, and allowing them to work on races that require a full update at the same time , my guess would be Eldar, they will be the biggest redo this edition i think.

its basically Tau with some of the races that have joined them, things ive heard are human auxiluaries, the vespid and one or two other small races filling certain roles as well as what gandalf said about the forgeworld stuff.

yeah, basically an attempt by GW to make some more cash ^_^ .

i just wonder why they dont add them into chapter approved or something but still thats IMO of course.

I definitely agree with Farsight about GW wanting to get more money.
I hope this new codex is good as well. But this new codex is just a heist to make GW more money so,i won't buy it!

I think they look rather nice.
