Title: New Dwarf models!
Description: what do you think?

Check out this topic at Bugman's - pics of some of the new models, and rumours about what's going to change.

I gotta say, the new stuff looks amazing, quite possibly putting the Dwarf range into the top of GW's production.

What do you guys think?

well I think that the dwarfs will be hard as nails  their warmaschines will be a threat to reckon with. eagles wont get rid of them, thatīs for sure...stubborn, hard cover, defended obstacle

they seem to be very good with the new rules, and the new plastic dwarfs have surprised me with their quality, like a proper dwarf.

liking most of the new rules, seem to portray dwarfs very well ^_^

they seem to have found that dwarf craftsmanship is far superior than the shabby work of men. their warmaschines should be very effective. I also like that the engeneers has gotten a more important role.

Cool-looking. Even Dwarfs can make beautiful things once in a while. The servants are nice too.

behold: a dwarf lord

I really have to say i really like the way that games workshop has remodelled the whole dwarf range, they really have a better feel to them. I have to agree that gamesworkshop has really captured the dwarf craftmanship as seen through the dwarf lord on his throne being carried into battle...

that be true, the only problem which can be seen by these new dwarfs is that they are still the same sort of army, stay back shoot with lots of artilerly then charge a tiny enemy unit with 20 long-bearded, great-weapon wielding dwarfs.

but i do suppose that they have a nice style of play to them and can see why many will want to collect them, or indeed do collect them ^_^

the throne model with the book of grudges also looks brilliant, it even has it's own 4 dwarfs carriers- back- breaking work

Yes, but you just can't change the general style of an army. You can add or remove a few things, but the way of fighting must stay about the same. Dwarves are a tough and disciplined defensive army, just as Dark Elves are sneaky, fast but frail and Greenskins are a numerous and versatile offensive force. Could you just imagine Dwarves with fast cavalry? It doesn't make sense.

they now have the dwarf army set on the GW website, looks a little smaller than i thought but i suppose it has 4 characters and 2 artilery pieces ^_^

Grimgor Ironhide - October 31, 2005 11:18 PM (GMT)
they don't look all that different, just painted differently really . . .
