does beastherds negate ranks? sure, they are skirmishers, but not in the same way as usual skrimishers in that they are a hybrid type of unit between regular ranked unit and skirmish, so how is it?

and it is true that you dont have to test against panic if the panickin unitīs US is lower than the unit required to tets yes?

As negating ranks is not mentioned under the raiders special rules I'd say that no, they don't. They can still cause panic and recieve the CR bonus for flank or rear charging however, as can all skirmishers.

No, provided the charging unit is US5 or greater it will cuase panic regardless of the other unit's size.

kinda funny since they only move in skirmish formation, but fight as an ordinary unit. then again rules are rules, good to know since I dont want to cheat.

you are talking about flank/rear charges that cause panic, I dont. I ment that for example a warhound unit of 5 models panic, thats a US of 10. now if you have a beastherd nearby that is, say 20 models strong (US20). now this would mean that the bestheard dont have to take a panic test if the warhound unit should panic nearby since the beastherd have a higher unit strenght?

EDIT: checked out the panic thing and I was right so.. ^_^

one more question, can you make charge reactions against charges made by help of magic, movement spells.

Depends on the spell but usually the charged unit can only choose to hold.

wait a sec, when you say abot smaller unit sizes affecting larger ones when they panic are you talking about with just beastherds?

as with the normal rules if a panicking unit is near a larger unit the larger unit does not need to panic as it is a higher unit strength

you are right farsight, I did mean it in general. not just beastherds, just took that as an example :)
