Ok, due to the coolness of the models and the awe I have for ogres, they are going to be my new army :) (that might not be so special anymore, being since I have joined i had started a skaven army, a HE army and now ogres but who cares?). I don't really plan to get this army beyond 2K but we'll see what happens, it's more of a showcase army but I would like to take the army to tournies as I get older.
Speaking of tournies, these two lists have been made in mind for conflict next year so I should have enough time to get the army painted and practiced, but I still need help. I have designed two lists, the first one, a little 'controversial' (I am told these tend to win tournies when used correctly) and a bit more fluffy. The other I think a bit more basic, but more options, I think the second one might be best but this is why I am posting both up. My intention for you cool cats on the block is not only to 'just pick the better list' (and why) but also any changes you would make (and why). Here goes......................
travelling band of ogres
bruiser- hvy armour, siege breaker (I can just imagine it :D ), wyrdstone necklace, two luck gnoblars- 194
butcher- 2 tooth gnoblars, 2 scrolls- 190
used for magic resistance mainly, I can imagine a mad mumbling ogre joining along with the warband
3 bulls- bellower, additional h/ws-127
protect a flanker from anything particularly annoying
4 ironguts- stnd, bellower, warbanner- 247
steam roller unit, nuff said
31 gnoblar fighters- 62
31 gnoblar fighters- 62
these two units are here to bulk up the numbers as models were few for the big surprise is up ahead...
8 gnoblar trappers- 48
pesky gnoblars cheking the route ahead
the big surprise.....
1 scraplauncher- 165
1 scraplauncher- 165
1 scraplauncher- 165
these poor grazing animals will be carrying the crap of the tribe
and a gorger- 75
sort of following the warband in the shadows, arriving when blood is spilt...
1500 on the dot.
well, ogre tactics are pretty obvious most of the time. I just wanted to include the scraplaunchers because I couldn't believe there was no restriction on them.
second list, what do you think?
bruiser- great weapon, 2 gnoblar thiefstones, greedy fist, 2 luck gnoblars- 202
As I am not including a butcher in this list I was very aware of magic, hence MR 2, and a gut plate that absorbs magical attacks.
bruiser- hvy armour, ironfist, giant breaker, gnoblar thiefstone- 184
4 ogre bulls- additional h/ws and bellower- 166
for protetcing flank/ pincer movement
4 iron guts- stnd bearer, bellower- 222
4 iron guts- stnd bearer, bellower, rune maw- 242
gnoblars go next to them taking the magical spells
36 gnoblars- 72
big so as not to panic too quickly
3 ogre bulls- ironfists, bellower- 130
stay next to the first ironguts for the flank charge
3 lead belchers- 165
take other flank, annoying mainly
1 gorger- 75
really to show that there is a nasty suprise at the end and to worry the opponent a little bit. :D
total 1458, crud, just realised that's not 1.5k, ermmm, any suggestions for the remaining points? other than that I think that is it, what do you guys think?
omid omid omid, have you still not made up your mind ^_^
still with the lists, i like the first but the only problem i can see is you do not have enough ogres, IMO take 1 of the scrap launchers and add 3 more bulls with a command, or instead add more to the other unit, aaargh.
the second list is also good from what i can see, plus i like you have given the bruiser "giant breaker" as no one seems to take it and it is soo hard :fight: .
sorry about the lack of advise but i dont play ogres, so ive tried my best anyway
good luck, Dan

You like the first list? Wow, I thought people were going to really crticise that list, I know I could, I've sort of grown of it now actually. As for the second list thank you for showing your appreciation on my selection og wargear, I think it might be easy for me to keep magical items down in this list as ogres don't have that many worthwhile stuff in there, although I think I pretty much filled the max no of points on my bruisers. As for the remaining points, I reckon, it should add an extra bull in the ironfist unit so should I loose one model, I will still have enough to negate any ranks, should I have a few points left over I can bulk up the gnoblar unit so I they are even less likely to panic.
You see I like the second list more for a few reasons, the first is that I love how the army wuold operate, it would go like this:
ld belchers-------bulls---iron----iron 2--------gnoblars--------bulls
guts guts
looking at it like that it's kinda small but hey, I suppose they're meant to be. well, the ingenious of it is that most opponents would direct magical attacks at the irongut units. (the first bruiser in ironguts 1, second bruiser in ironguts 2), should they target unit 1, I have (up to) 2 DD and 2 MR dice, should they target unit 2, I will have (up to) 2DD and MR1, should the spell get cast, I can always redirect it to the gnoblars :D (the magical standard), the gnoblars will have around 36 models and a ld of 9 ( general close by) so they (hopefully) shouldn't go anywhere  . also, I can perform a pincer movement with the flanking bulls and lead belchers should I need to and teh gorger is there to generally annoy any opponents.
Second reason, it's cheap compared to most armies. :D
Any other comments? whether or not you collect ogres or not I would still like to here your input.
