Title: Chaos Dwarves With Archeon?
Banana Man - October 5, 2005 04:23 PM (GMT)
Have we all heard that Chaos Dwarves will be coming back, to be used with Hoards and Beasts, and will be called 'Machines of Chaos'? Well if not they're's a rumour that says it is, whatever.
But if so, Chaos will be unstoppable. The one massive drawback with Chaos is lack of missile fire. Dwarves on the other hand are the masters of missile fire. So you mix the two and . . .WHOOAAAA!!! They will be overpowered.
I mean I'm not complaining, seeing as I started Chaos the other week :)

Not surprising, really -- GW has made the Chaos Dwarfs more "chaosy" ever since SoC (somehow, the name of Hashut has been mysteriously forgotten).
I'm not too keen about Machines of Chaos, though -- with Hordes of Chaos, Beasts of Chaos, Daemonic Legion and the SoC list, Chaos is already the most varied list in the game, and is already incredibly powerful. We do NOT need daemonically-powered iron golems or chaosified steam tanks rampaging across the battlefield alongside Chosen Knights and Shaggoths (the Hellcannon is enough, thank you very much). If they're going to make a Chaos Dwarf list, GW should give them the respect they deserve and make them a separate army.

As you say, Chaos will be cheeeesy <_< . Being excellent at offense, they will become great at defense too. I don't see how they could be fair, and I just hope Chaos Dwarves will not be overpowered.
I don't know much about Chaos Dwarves. What is their background and story?

Are you sure about this rumour? Because I kind of remember hearing a 'Machines of Chaos' rumour during the storm of chaos, but it just turned out to be the hellcannon, not an entire army ^_^ . You might have also got confused with 'engines of the gods' but probably not.
I remember hearing that GW weren't going to produce chaos dwarves anymore but I don't think people were ever sure.
TBH, I don't think chaos will be as cheesy as first thought, remember they still won't have sufficient numbers as other armies, and there are only so many special slots in an army, I doubt a chaos dwarf collector would want to fill his special slots up with mortals and beasts when he will have a vast array of tortured warmachines. I suppose this works the other way with mortals and beasts so there would be some sort of restriction should this army be released, all hypothetical, of course.
Oh, Banana man ( ) do you have any links to suggest any evidence of this forthcoming army?

Well i, like omid am skeptical about this. Could you tell us where you actually heard this rumour, as that would be useful so we can determine its reliability (or lack of it).
Personally i think that when (if) they redo the chaos dwarves, they will be a stand alone army.
Just my opinions...

There is no "Machines of Chaos" book. The rumor started before SoC because someone caught a whiff of the Hellcannon and started blabbering about the return of CD's and how cheesy Chaos would be.
For the time being, the Hellcannon is the only "Machine of Chaos", and will be the only one for a looong time if not the only.
Chaos Dwarves and Chaos never really got along in the first place, so if they do resurrect the little stunties, I doubt they'll be another add-on book to Chaos.

Remember, the Hellcannon was only made in exchange for slaves. The Dawi Zharr will work with anyone aslong as they get what they want (Hashut is the God of Progress, after all). Hashut wasn't actually frogotten ... look at the bull skull on the Hellcannon. Looks like the old skull that used to be on CD banners.

Probably a bit late, but I heard that they were going to introduce a whole array of Daemon Engines as Rare choices in a Hordes of Chaos army as well as redoing the Chaos Dwarfs proper. I heard this from a complete idiot, though, so it will most likely turn out not to be true.
