I was wondering if you had a themed army, what is their history?

My undivided army started with a child from the empire who was born with mutations. Witchhunters wanted him killed, but his mother could't let him be killed and gave the child to a traveler. The traveler was a leader of a chaos cult, and they took care of the child. Years later, the child had become the cult leader and a chaos fanatic. He organised a warband of warriors and went north. After long years in the chaoswastes, he and his growing army went south to gain glory and power.
The army he had gathered consisted of norse, kurgans and hung, and even mens of the empire.
Many of the warband he started in the first place still rides with him, and the cult leader that took care of him is also still in the army, as a spawn.

The army is soon 2k, and I also want names for my characters.

my army is named "the devils deciples" and started with a great warband of chaos marauders who fought bravely but lost many times, so to try and avert this losing streak they seemd to be suffering the leader of the band worshipped Slaanesh to try and gain abilities with which he could use.

Slaanesh accepted the offer sent to him and granted half the warband with chaos armour and the mark of slaanesh, the other half thought they were left out when suddenly over the hill many horses galloped down towards them and these others became maruder horseman.

the leader was pleased with this gift and since then has fought for Slaanesh unquestionably.

just think of a name which is kinda catchy or what your hero may be famed for, skulltaker or neckbreaker then add a norse sounding name at the from, jorg neckbiter for example

How are norse names? Myself I am norwegian, and the norse is clearly inspired by the old norwegian vikings and barbarians (Norsca = Norway). I have some real history books here about famous vikings, perhaps I can use their names?

^_^ yeah just find any name which sounds catchy or you like, i like too choose names for my heroes, thats why it annoys me at tournaments when they say you need to name your characters, i think most people have a commander or champion called "Bob" or "Jim"

My HOC-army is based upon the armylist in the 'storm of chaos'-book.
It has both Archaon and Crom in it.
Although that's not quite correct during the storm of chaos, it stil makes sense because before Crom gathered his massive force and invaded the empire from the east (not from the north like Archaon) he travelled a while with 'the Lord of the End Times' and his warband 'the Swords of Chaos'.
So my army is situated in time after Archaon met Crom and before Vardek Crom became 'the Conqueror'

Since it has 2 special characters in it, it has become not really a horde but more a special elite force (exactly what 'the swords of chaos' actually are)
