Title: Peguses knights
Description: a really big diversion?

Ok, a few days ago i played a game of my skaven agianst brentonians. After having my ass handed to me, i was discussing the game with my freind who had just beat me. We were talking about how his regular knights ripped though my army, yet his peguses knights were driven off the table by clanrats. so we were talking, and came to the conclution that peguses knights are just a huge diversion. Everyone is worried about the feared pegesus knights and don't concentrate on the regular knights in lance formation. So what do you think, are pegesus knights a fighting machine or a 55 pts per model diversion?

There is no Brettonia player anywhere near where I live, so I have never fought against pegasus knights. But from what I have heard and read, they seem like more than just a diversion.

Of course they shouldnt be overestimated. The fact that they dont have ranks and cant negate ranks defines their role as a support unit. They will struggle to win the combat on their own, even if they come from a flank. That said, as a support unit they are fantastic, maybe the best one in the game.

With their ridiculous manoeverability and speed they are great at helping the cavalry units everywhere on the board. They dont negate ranks but they compensate with killing! Small units like missile troops, skirmishers or other flyers are no problem for them, even monstrous mounts are inferior to a unit of pegs if it gets the charge. Like other flyers they too of course are superb at warmachine/mage hunting, with one difference: they are dead hard to kill.

So all in all they seem like an extremely dangerous unit to me. They cant decide battles on their own, but in combination with the rest of the army Id expect them to be very powerful.

Ok thanks.

See, he didn't use them like that. He just pushed them straight at a block of clanrats and some weapon teams. Well, it boeds well for me.... Thanks again.

The way I see this is that they dont have enough attacks to show your oponent that they are dangerous. Think about it, they only have on attack each, so basically if you dont kill people with that one attack you really have to rely on the pegasus to deal out some damage

I dont think it would be unreasonable for these pegasus knights to have 1 more attack and minus one off thier steeds for possibly a 5-10 point increase...

Just the way I see it ^_^

Uhm, I really dont think that 1 attack each is underpowered...

I mean Ive never played against them, but normally 4 S5 attacks (or is it S6?) and 3 S4 attacks are nothing to laugh about..
