I have further streamlined my list so it is more themed. However i do not know if tis effective...it has been performing well so far but that becoz i was fighting woodelves and orcs who r generally softer. PLs evaluate and tell me abt my list's weakness.
Tomb King
Chariot, Spear of Antharak, Scorpion Armor, Shield
Tomb Prince
Chariot(of fire), Great Weapon, shield
Hierophant
Cloak of Dunes, Hieratic Jar
Lich Priest
Steed, Scrolls x 2
16 Skellies archers full command (body guards of hierophant...when they die the hierophant will move away of coz)
5 L.Cav (for last minute bodyguards, arrrows makes sure they are not wasted when being placed far from the front line. can be used to divert charges also)
12 Heavy Cav( can be used as bodyguards, a punching unit especially in contributing ranked combat res to the chariots)
3 Chariots, Champ, Banner + Banner of Undying LEgion
3 Chariots, Champ, Banner
(these r my main hitters, i found that one unit is enuff to get the job done if its not destroyed therefore i have 1 extra units as reserves)
3 carrion
2 Scorpion
3 Ushabtis (due to points i take onli 3, i tihnk its ok since they r support troops anyway)
Finally, my theme is a borderland strike force in the outskirts of Nekhahara, therefore there is such a great emphasize on troops on horseback. the archers r there becoz i need bodyguards for the priest, they came with the army deal i bought years ago, and i have read some books that even mounted armies also use foot archers as support.
Why dont you try and find some points for a warbanned on your heavy cav, as i have seen a unit of that size with a warbanner dish out some hefty damage
A good list! :)
I agree with Wilko that a warbanner on the heavy cav would be nice. You could get the points by discarding the Scorpion Armour, which is not so important if you use your King offensively.
Id also rather see a Bone Giant than the Ushabti in this list, becuse he is faster and can keep up with the chariots and cavalry better. He doesnt only have 1 movenment point more, he is also a lot more manouverable. He is more expensive though too...
Is the bone giant more manouvreable? I understand that single monsters move as units. And even if they move as characters, don't character models with starting 5+ wounds move as units? Or are you refering to it's smaller sixe than three ushabti, meaning i have missed the point completely?
Down with the Australian English sylabus
Snotta
The wheeling arch is much smaller for the bone giant. Simple.
Not that bad a list but i do have a couple of probs with it.
1. Carrion. Why? I have used them 3 times and all 3 times theve done pants and i pitied them agaisnt easy units. I mean the only use i did find was they r good at taking War machines and small units of missile troops. I would prefer to use the point on sumit more useful lik a unit of skelly spears.
2. No spearmen this is one of youre main units fair enough this is an agressive quick moving unit but it jsut doesnt look right without spearmen.
Theres my points but i also agree that a bone giant would be better than ushabti seening as it may evne get more attacks than that unit.
