Title: Treemen
Description: Are they worth it?

I did some testing on a treeman and they can beat a unit of 20 saurus without losing more than 2 wounds. But when thier pushing 300 pts are they worth the money

Hard to say....I've only played 1 game with one.....
They don't fare well against lots of poison....lol

That's funny when you think about it: poisoning a tree...

Try poisoning a skeleton...
I think they're pretty good, but I'd be inclined to use one in a more defensive/shooty list where the enemy has to come to you, otherwise I fear they'll be able to outrun it most of the time. If you force them to come get your firebase it's going to be difficult to avoid it. And being stubborn..
I'm not sure. It may work in an attack force. I guess dryads are only M5, but the problem with treekin and treemen is they can be march blocked.
Actually, 285pts is a pretty solid investment for a safe flank. Bung a treeman on the side of your army and you'll be fine. Strangleroots deals with any skirmishers ot fast cav trying to skirt round your flank, and anything larger is easy prey to get caught up with your tough, stubborn treeman.

Trees get sick and get diseases you know. BTW they were witches who didn't want to be friends with the treeman. He was allergic or something.
OT: Place your treeman at the front of your deployment zone. Drop your free forest 9 inches ahead of him. 1st turn run him into the forest and use his bound treesinging (and maybe others) to move his forest.

That's a good idea, nice speed boost.
Not 9" though. That will leave half his base outside the forest. Go 6 or 7, just to be sure you get all the way in. Otherwise you'll lose a turn of treesinging and movement (not being able to move out of the forest next turn)

Treemen IMO rock, but the model is so expensive. So I'm embarking on a massive conversion...pictures later.

Thr model looks very bad and will probably be in the 'monster' price range (whereas before it was an ogre-price), but they are easy to make from scratch and I don't see why they'd be any less effective than they were before.
