Title: re-starting brets

Yeah as the title says, i'm restarting my brettonians. I haven't played the new brets properly yet as i got rid of my old army when the new models came out. So what works in a 1500pt army?

have a damsel with 2 despell scrolls (that'll be your magic and magical defence)
Get a battle standard bearer and equip it with a magical wepon and some magical armour then you HAVE to have some knights of the relm (a good unit is about 8-9)
get to units of thoughs.
Get some archers (i got 16 of em)
and mabye some knights errent
for special get some pegasus knights if u can and for rare choince if you have enough points get some grail knights

i want some archers, as last time i played they were a special for some reason

To start you need a BSB, a second hero of any description and KotR. You will want to have at least two units of KotR to form a solid base for the army, you should always have way more knights then peasants, or you might as well be playing Empire.

If you want some shooting to help you out, consider taking a Trebuchet to supplement any of the weaker Bretonnian archers, they can really pack a punch if you know what you are doing.

Avoid wasting points on men-at-arms when you can use knights instead, take Grail Knights if you can afford them, otherwise Questing will make an adequate, though considerably less powerful, substitute.

Also, if you want flankers, use Pegasi rather than Squires, the flying cavalry are much faster, manoeverable and dangerous to your opponent, even in small numbers.

Use a damsel at first as the king suggested, that way you don't have to invest a lot in characters early on while still covering your bases.

If you want archers, take the option to make them skirmish. I wish all archers in Warhammer skirmish. It's so useful. Don't take M@A: even at 5 points each, they're not worth it.

Remember that the core of your army is the Knights of the Realm. Don't take Knights Errant, they're crappy. As elite heavy cav, I personnally prefer Questing Knights vs. Grail Knights (I love great weapons, even for cav), but it's your choice.

so, so far i should be taking archers 1 damsel lots of kotr and a unit of grail knights and some peggy knights for flankers. What else should i have in a 2k list?
