Title: Wood Elves 1500pts
Description: the old tourney bug...

Because I had so much fun at conflict, I want to quickly get my Wood Elves to 1500pts so I can enter them in some sort of competition. Here's a 1500pts list that i've come up with.

Alter Noble, GW, LA, shield, Helm of the Hunt, Hail of doom arrow (158pts)
Level 2 spellsinger, Dispel Scroll (150pts)
Level 2 spellsinger, Dispel Scroll (150pts)

10 glade guard (120pts)
10 glade guard (120pts)
8 dryads (96pts)
8 dryads (96pts)
5 glade riders (120pts)

3 warhawks (120pts)
8 wardancers (144pts)
5 wild riders, standard, musician, war banner (173pts)

1 great eagle (50pts)

Total = 1497pts
6 Power Dice
4 Dispel Dice

Seems pretty good and there is a definite lack of Dispel Scrolls, which isn't a bad thing. But you are wrong on one account, not everything is below 150pts, one of the spellsingers is 5pts over.

Overall, I too like the list. I'd try and playtest it more before the tourney, just to make sure it does reasonably well.

Whoops, missed that. The hail of doom arrow was only a recent addition, so it was true before ^_^

Thanks for the encouragement. The tournie isn't any time soon, but yeah, I hope to be able to practice with it more than I did with my lizards for this years conflict (one match against Goblit)

List looks really great, except I would be hesitant to take those glade riders. Think about it... they have a 6+ armour save, although they would have the benefit of being a pest, but in close combat you would ahve to be careful how you use them as well as keeping them hidden from shooting..

I wont tell you what to do with the list as it already has a high probability of winning, but if I had a list like this I would be more incluned to drop the 2 units of glade riders and beef up the two unit of dryads up to 10-12.. And also with point left I would include some waywatchers... or maybe beef up you unit of wild riders, or alternativly you can keep it how it is ^_^

Anyway I like the list, but there is something about glade riders that just bugs me :P

I don't think I can drop the glade riders. Not only are they one of the best model sets Games Workshop has ever made, but they're also the fast element to my army. With no scouts I really need the 18" move these guys provide to put some early pressure on my opponents.

Dryads I think work best as small units. Not only are they only 96pts (!!) but I don't want to be paying loads of points for models I don't use. Right now 6 will usually get in combat, which is a tasty 12 attacks. Getting more is just like getting extra ranks after the fourth, only there to die. Outnubering is good with fear but hey, I can just charge two units at the same time, especially if I can get one on the flank. 20+ WS4 Str4 attacks. Yes please.

I'm not a big fan of the Blades of Loec. I mean, he already is S5 on the charge, so there isn't much of a point to them. I think the points would be better spent on a Amerathine Brooch, as it gives him a 3+ ward against non-magic. Since he has MR(1) that could help.
