Birthing Sword of Carcassonne (35 pts): I love this weapon, which offers a great value for the cost. It's a good character-killer or heavy-cav-slaughterer since it enables you to strike at S5 and has good chances to get past even the best armor saves.
Gromril Great Helm (30 pts): I think this armor is a must-have for any Bretonnian general. Combined with the Enchanted Shield, it gives you a great re-rollable save that makes you virtually invincible against anything under S6 or S7 (as long as it doesn't ignore armor saves, of course).
Enchanted Shield (10 pts): An excellent value: truly inexpensive for what it adds. You need to be very cheap points-wise to decide not to take it.
Virtue of Confidence (25 pts): Excellent for challenges... if your adversary doesn't know that you have it (otherwise, he would be afraid to fight you). With this, a Bret doesn't fear to confront Dwarven, Elven or even Chaotic lords who have higher combat stats.
I could replace the Enchanted Shield with the Gauntlet if I want to be the ultimate duellist, though, but I prefer my lord to be good against units, too. I like when I manage to use every of my equipment points.
How would YOU equip your lord?
Come on! Won't I get a reply? All I ask is what you would put to a Bretonnian Lord! Brets have some of the greatest weapons and armors of the Warhammer universe. Some of you surely know what to take!
I generally go with the Sword of The Quest, Armour of Agilulf and Virtue of Confidence.
I choose that sword for killing enemy cavalry, and use the virtue to make it better in challenges. The armour is there because it works effectively for either battle situation.
I think some of these characters are quite good :
