Title: New to the Boards.... my 2k Sylvanian to critique.

I got a 2k point list for the Sylvanians and I'm just wondering if anyone else would really do anything different. Now, before you critique, know that my characters are set in stone. My Sylvanian list will be set around (sort of) House of Frankenstein (or Van Helsing if you want to be trendy). House of Frankenstein was the first movie by Universal studios to feature Dracula, the Wolfman, and Frankenstein in the same film back in the 30's. So I am paying tribute as much as I can to my love of classic horror films.

So here is the basic list and what I'm thinking of so far, any help is appreciated....

Vampire Lord (Count Dracula)
Level 3 Wizard
Carstein Ring

Vampire Thrall (The Wolfman, will be modelled as such)
Wolf Form
Wolf Lord
Heavy Armor (resilience of a werewolf)
Additional Hand Weapon

Wight Lord (The Frankenstein Monster)
Heavy Armor (he's Frankenstein for Pete's sake!)
Crown of the Damned (because why wouldn't Frank be subject to stupidity?)

2 X 3 Bat Swarms

2 X 10 Dire Wolves

2 X 20 Sylvanian Levy
Musician and Standard Bearers

14 Grave Guard (Frankenstein will lead this mob)
Musician and Standard Bearer

1 Black Coach

Let the critiquing begin! And thanks!!

Well, you obviously place fun and fluff above the other aspects of the army, so I shan't comment on that.

Wolf Lord shouldn't exist on the Thrall, though. The words sound fluffy and correct and all, but seriously, does it matter to your opponent that your fluffy Werewolf thrall has Wolf Lord as one of his bloodline powers? Especially since he technically won't even have to declare it, ever...

Hauberk would do better to represent werewolf resilience. To me, anyway. It being a good effective choice is just a bonus...

Anyways, have fun with the modelling and all.

well you certainly are attracted to themed armies.firstly iwould split the 2 units of wolves into 4 of 5 wolves each.secondly i would increase the unit of grave guard to include at list 16-20.thirdly iwould have takan more care of my characters.here is my suggestion

vampire lord(lv.3 wizard/book of arkhan/aura of dark majesty/crown of the damned/additional hand weapon)

thrall (wolfman){flayed hauberk/greatweapon/wolf form)

thrall(h.armour/enchanted shield/gem of blood/great weapon)frank :thumb:

Thanks for the replies so far... yes themed armies are my doom :) And since writing this I have had a slight overhaul to the list itself. Great idea on the Flayed Hauberk, I'm now using it (passed by it before for some reason) Here is the latest incarnation and the one I'm seeming most happy with right now...

Vampire Count
Level 2
2nd Weapon
Carstein Ring

Vampire Thrall
Wolf Form
Flayed Hauberk
2nd Weapon

Wight Lord
Heavy Armor
Great Weapon
Crown of the Damned

19 Drakenhof Guard
Mus/SB
Banner of the Barrows

2 X 3 Fell Bats

5 Dire Wolves
Scout

5 Dire Wolves (wolfman will join this group)

2 X 25 Sylvanian Levy
Mus/SB

8 Black Knights
Barding
War Banner

Black Coach

2000 Points on the nose

Now this is looking a lot better gameplay-wise.

Your Wight Lord might actually lose you some games, though, but that's a risk you seem to be willing to take.

Drop enough stuff to bump the Knights up to 10? I always feel 8 is a terrible number for a cavalry block, especially if no character is joining them.

i 'll agree with derfel.this list is more competitive.i insist on droping the carstein ring and the wight lord for a thrall.
