Title: Dark Elf Conflict army

ok, i know its early but i'm designing my army for conflict now so that i can spend time painting it and can test it out in Winter War first. I tried to balance the list out as much as possible with heavy cavalry, fast cavalry, strong anti magic, strong infantary center and repeater bolt throwers and repeater crossbowmen softening up the units for the cold ones and warriors to mop up and break.

Ok, so i have 5 DD and 6 PD and a dispel scroll, i think this should be enough for offensive and defensive magic. I plan on using my corsairs to support my warrior unit and so i only have a unit of 15, i also did this so that i could afford the extra level for my second sorceress. I was tempted with buying shades instead of the second sorceress but decied that 4 power dice wasn't going to be effective enough in casting spells. Combined with my +1 to casting i should have a strong magic phase. I was thinking about buying executioners instead of cold one knights, i'm still not sure, maybe you guys can help me here ;) . I didn't buy anything special for my noble as i thought a 6+ ward and a 2+ armour save should be enough. On a side note, what benifits does a cold one grant to your armour save, i took it as +1 but i'm not sure as some count as having thick hides. I plan on using my dark riders to harass war machines and wizards and to get behind the enmey lines to stop march moving and to harass units as they move towards my table edge. So if you can tell me what you think that would be great ^_^ .

Ok. Ill start at the top and work down.
Sorceress': Yep ok there fine, good magic attack and defense, good.
Noble. Yeh well, whats the point in the enchanted shield and talisman when you can give him: HA, SDC, Shield, Lance, Cold One. 112pts for a 1+ save. Cheaper and better than the original, if your insitant on the ward save then its still 2 points less and a better save than the original.
Corsairs. Well if your only using them to support the warriors, then drop them to 12. Otherwise id make them up to 16/20 for full rank bonus.
Warriors and Xbowmen: Good. Solid core. You might think about giving the xbowmen shields so they can be used as flankers.
Dark riders: Yep bog standard in and DE list.
Cold One Knights: Well i tried this out before and it work ok but i found 5 COK with War banner and noble is a much better option as it saves pints and breaks most units anyway. Even fully ranked ones wont be able to stand up to 6 S5 attacks, 3 S6 attacks and 6 S4 attacks.
RBT's. Well yep there very useful. Still you may want to trade these for 2 chariots as this seems like quite an agressive list. Then 1 chariot can support the warriors the other the corsairs. If you want to play defensively use them.

Just to cover what joe said, I'd drop the corsairs down to 12 because you won't need 15 as a flanking unit. In the same manner, consider adding shields and brining the RXB elves up to 12 for flanking. You're paying for their nice WS and M, why not use it?

So i have dropped the unit of corsairs to 12 and increased the xbowmen to 12. I dropped the cold ones to 5 and gave them the standard of slaughter so they will be getting a min of combat res 2 they charge and a max of 4 before you add outnumber and kills :eek: . i gave my second sorceress a scroll and the dark star cloak with the points i gained from dropping the cold one knights and corsairs to give me a total of...... (drum roll please)
4 Dispel Dice
7 Casting dice
And 2 dispel scrolls
Now my magic phase should be more powerful and more defensive as i can cast two spells on 2 dice a turn and one on 3 :D . So tell me what you think of my revised list.

Yep it looks much better. You still havent told us what style your playing. Cos those rbt's are not gonna be too useful if your attacking.

Sorceresses - A bit over the top, but that tournaments for you.
Noble - Fine. Good to see you DON'T have a great Weapon. Have these to flank.
Corsairs - Personally 15 of them in 3*5, not many units will be able to be attacked by 6 models(I presume you're going 2 ranks and 6 files).
Warriors - Yep to both units. Although units of 15 with Shields and Repeater Crossbows. Use on a hill in two ranks, then before combat use 3*5 for +2 Ranks. Effective. Although this is your choice (and might mean dropping things), I would personally go for my option, ;)
Dark Riders - Nice Unit.
Cold One Knights - Impressive, but Standard of Slaughter isn't really worth it for a one use item, War Banner is much better.
Reapers - Personally I think these should have a form of upgrade... shame Games Workshop didn't give them any.... <_< Shame... personally more Dark Riders would also be good...

Hmmm...you confuse me darmort. 6 corsairs will normally get all there attacks. remeber corner to corner fighting. 12 is much better you want to take full advantage of their attacks.
I agree with you about the COK drop the SoS and take the war banner.

looks a good list to me, a few tips
[LIST]
[*]You could drop 4 warriors from the main unit to have 3 more corsairs,a better use of points and this makes the units look well rounded.
[*]the 20 strong unit of elves dosen't really need full commsand,you could drop the champion and then give the dark riders a musician.Same with the CoKs.
[*} the warbanner will be less of a points sink than SOS IIRC.
