Recently, i've had a player at my local gw recomend that i get a screaming bell. Now i've been thinking about it, and would like to know what every one here thinks of screaming bell. Do they help alot? Are they worth 200 pts? Do you use them? I just wanna know if it's worth buying this huge screaming bell. Thanks.

well omid, in my opinion i would buy a screaming bell as even though i would not get one mysef i have to say that they are effective when you roll correctly, and dont get a triple ^_^ . so i would go ahead and get one and see how it goes, but what you need to think about is the points cost of 1, 200pts! for just one thing which could blow up (like the rest of the army i suppose) but there we go get a screaming bell and give it a go, but beware of the repercussions.
if you can find an answer in their then good luck to you,

thanks for the confusion there albiono  , why have you got the same avatar as him? ^_^

Right, the avatar. The avatar you all used to know and love ever so much was under the basic sci-fi avatar option. Since then I have changed to a different avatar and will constantly until I find my avatar  . right avatar conversation over, down to business, ladies.
The screaming bell thing, this has now made me consider one but anyway. Two things I believe are necessary for a screaming bell, here are they are. 1, it all depends on what size battle you are playing and whether you have the space to fit him in and a substantial force as well. 2, he needs a decent bodyguard, with a decent size.
If those things are good and the money/dough/cheddar is good then go for it! All it could do is boost more character to your army and make your games more interesting.

I personally love the screaming bell but ONLY and I mean ONLY in games at 3000pts or higher. If you take a gray seer and trick him out and place him on a bell its more then I normally spend on characters in a 2000 pt battle. Omid is correct in that the bell needs a decent bodyguard as well. After all is said and done you can have 700+ points in one unit easily. And no matter how many points are spent they are still just skaven.
At 3000 though its not so bad since some of the bells effects will affect all of your units and a horde bell army can become scary quickly. All said its really a personal choice. If I take a grey seer then I fell I may as well go all out on the magic side and place him on a bell. Its very cool fluff-wise and a skaven army tends to be very flat and plain compared to some army's with all their cav. and monsters. The bell helps break this up and, in a sense, make the skaven play in a very different way.
You can get the model pretty cheap if you look around some and just buy it and paint it, (its fun to paint), and try it out. If anything its a nice change for a one-off every now and then.
