this is my first empire army. actualy my first good army (exept lizzies but i always viewed them as netral anyhow and the civalised world considers them evil and barbaric so...).
anyway any help will be apresiated (plus are these guys week or what i meen zombies were bad enough but atleast they were tarpits.
so my main apponant is bretts and my main plan is to use the swordsmens ranks and standard and the halbarders as a counter charge in the flank so we can hopefully hold then the swordsmen have 4+ save from the secon round onwards and the halbarders can happaly much up the flanks.
my second main apponant is orc's so i'll stay on my toes and try to kill his genoral...

First off, you will ony get a 6+ save of the knights so you are better using spearmen for the extra attacks, because your front rank will most likely be wiped out.
Secondly, Wheres the shooting!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
i had an army list which was
6 knights
12 handgunners
lv 2 wizard
hellblaster volly gun
the volley gun is a good anti knight and infantary weapon giving the knights only a 5+ save and the orcs none. The handgunners will Whittle units down and the knights can charge in and finish them off while the wizard blasts them with spells. It's a cheesy list, but the best one to take againts brets and orcs. Also you wont need the extra ld with the captain as ld 7 is enough in small point games. So good luck! :thumb:

Personally, I dont like it.... it lacks what i think is adequate punch...... maybe get rid of one unit and get some knights....

How about...
Captain; GW, Armour of meteroic iron 84pts
19x swordsmen; full command 246pts
8xhalbrediers
5xhandgunners
5x knightly order of the Inner circle, full command 170pts
=500pts
this captain is much more effective especially with the detachment special rules since you want to get charged, so striking last is no problem. The knights provide mobility and are quite powerful either on their own or flanking a unit in combat with your infantry block.

and the spearmen wont do any damage to knights with a 2+ armour save if i had 12 models attacking i would still only do 1/2 a wound each turn on adverage so the extra save is quite usefull.
otherthan that i think i'll suntansean's army.
