Description: Your choice!

To me all the bloodlines seem very powerful (though Lamia seems a bit inferior to the others).

Which do you like to use most?

Blood Dragons. He is a killing machine. If i didn't want to play with Blood Dragons,i would prefer to use a full necromancer army

Blood dragons. Their counts and lords are honestly the best, not only are they the best fighters in the whole warhammer fantasy game ( IMO ) They can also become quite good spell casters. however second i'd put down strigoi or necrarch......then von carstein then lahmia......don't ask.

But funky there really is not BEST blood line. Each blood line has its strengths and weaknessess so that it may be up to the player to see what he thinks is the best....say if hes a magic user he'd say necrarch etc. and it may vary in other peoples opinions. *sigh* hope that made sense  man i think i'm becoming a necrarch vampire

I am one of those strigoi lovers myself ^_^ they are just great with their high tougness, ward save and very useful bloodline powers. also the hatred is great, in the first round there will be many many kills. a count will have 5 str6 attacks, misses re-rolled. that makes up for a very nice CR along with ranks and standards and the odd kills that the troopers do.

to be able to summon ghouls is great, bye bye warmachines. 2 attacks a piece along with poison is just great. all this for a mere 25 points. most warmachines are quite pricey ^_^ and that is just one of the bloodline powers, ther really arent any bad ones in there :)

strigoi simply excell in taking out rank and file troopers and that is what they should do :) not beeing able to take any magic items is no problem since I would take the bloodline powers anyway :)

Srigoi are my favourite and strong competitively, though I'm iffy on summon ghouls at the moment they play nicely and well. The best though has to be necrach, thier power in magic is awesome and they can be built up incredibley strongly if used well.

Its hard to choose between Blood dragons and Strigoi! Both are killing machines and both have great blood line powers! But I prefer Blood dragon more, by the look of the blood dragons. If you look at the strigoi it looks like a monster, thats cool but its not my style. If you look at a blood dragon it really looks like a king that fights with his army (in my oppinon). But Von carsteins are good too, and that are the "Real" vampires. the same as you see in movies, and their powers are good, but not really great if you ask me! Necharch is not a killing machine what a regiment of skellies or zombies really needs. Lahmians are weird if you ask me! Weird blood line powers, but usefull. And they are not really a killing machine but they are better than Necharch. My blood line top 5 is:
1: Blood Dragon
2: Strigoi
3: Lahmian
4: Von carstein
5: Necharch

I like blood dragons, basically for the fact that thier vampire lord is so good, st5,t5,w5 and so many other high stats, and can cast whilst wearing armour! now that is a unkillable/killing machine.... i know he can be killed, but it is very rarely that i have seen a blood dragons vampire lord die in a battle. ^_^

I´ve always wondered something. do you guys keep your blood dragon mounted or unmounted? I would have him on foot, like with all vampires. cavalry regiments tend to be small and very vulnerable against losses in CR.

Answering your qs tyrion, i find the best killing unit is 9 black knights with full command and then take a mounted blood dragon with some bloodline powers and a ward save and give him a lance. So you will be getting a lot of s7 killing blow attacks from him, and then the black knights with killing blow as well. Strigoi are good when you have a lord and 3 thralls then make them a flying unit. Other characters you can put in grave guard and be quite comfortable in knowing they have a chance of surviving.

I Personally am a lahmian lover as they can take eother characters, so i like putting a saurus scar veteran with my black knights to give people a good kicking. Also taking elf mages. hmmm. They get the + 1 to dispel which is good. Dark Elf assasins are also useful for killing enemy characters and generally causing havoc among war machines and armies.

Necrarchs are my favourite as I often end games with more models than I started with. Besides, the models are fantastic.

well im gonna be different, my favorite bloodline is lahmia, true they may not be the best bloodline and may not have cool powers like te ones strigoi has, summon gouls, but they do have high initiative i believe and their bloodline powers i like over the others.

still blood dragons are dead hard in combat as well as strigoi and necrach are rock hard at magic, still lahmia is my favorite ^_^

DranZeR - June 11, 2005 04:54 AM (GMT)
I chose Lahmians, to me if used porperly are very powerful... plus their fluff is sweet :)

Launcelot pappillion - June 11, 2005 10:43 AM (GMT)
Von Carstein is by far my favourite, but mostly because of the sylvanian army! It' s just great fun to play with, and it has a great feeling about it.

I've voted for lahmia for my favorite bloodline. I'll be retooling my army someday (I work on my Khermi for now, and I work slowly :ph43r: ), but I'll make it a Lahmian army, with converted regiment from other army (at least some of them from empire), to represent that they have seduced them to their doom or something like that ;)

I've played a lot with Blood Dragon and they are very powerfull, but a bit weak on magic so I turned into a more Necromencer oriented army so far (I like necrarch in the book, but not that much on the field , maybe because the one time I've used them the Necrarch general got eaten by a giant  )
