budokata - April 22, 2005 11:32 PM (GMT)
well plyaedmy first game ever agaisnt store owner 1000p game tk vs bretonions
I had :
Tombking
lich priest
lichpriest on horseback
8 fast calv with bows
25 skellies full command
16 archer skelies
He had:
2 units of long bowman (cant remember number of bowmen or halbs)
1 unit of halbediers
8knights in lance formation
paladin
damsle(sp?)
skellies-------skellies(hill)-------fast calv
I had my archers deployed on a hill backed by a lich priest, the calv was on the right flank backed by a lich priest. and skellies were on the left backed by tomb king.
His units were archers--------halbs---------archers
-----knights
In a nut shell what won for me is I used my magiv urgency to charge with skellies againts knights before he could charge me, first CR was draw, next round I won by 3, he fled i pursued, i was in range of him fleeing that i charged and they fled off the board. by the end his archer took out my calv, not before they screened a charge, but they got over ran and killed my hirophant but it was turn 6 so that ended the game all in all i did ok but his knights is what won for me

Congratulations! :thumb:
Always nice to see humble skeleton warriors taking out noble knights!
A tip for the next battle: If you change the light cav to heavy cav it wont get shot away that easily by bowmen and will be a lot stronger on charge.
Well done anyway!

Yes, Congrats :thumb:
I agree with Funky you should tkae heavy horsemen instead of those light ones.
I would also advise to take out the priest on horseback, much too vulnerable out there, and takes a lot of points in 1000 point games.
I suggest putting in a Tomb scorpion then, And some toys for your guys.

ya the fast calv with bows didnt do much good, my archers on the hill were dealling all the ranged, however they have bows already...guess i could rip their arms off and attach spears

Congratulations, but one question...
how could you have a lord in a 1000pts battle?
Funky the Elf - April 24, 2005 04:13 AM (GMT)
Im sure he meant a Tomb Prince.

ya tomb prince just habbit..
this is what i have so far working toward 2000p
8 fast cav
2 lich (want one more)
tk
16 skellie archers
25 skellie warriors
3 ushabti
3 chariots
these are the models I have for my 2000p army so far any suggestions of what elsse to add be apreciated i think with the extra lich this is almost 1500p, how many points should i leave for magic items, dispel scrolls etc?

For the rest of your army I would have to say grab a tomb scorpion or two, carrion, and a bone giant/screaming skull catapult. I personally feel that TK is entirely dependant on their characters and special choices.
You may also want to get some heavy cav as well since while they are not great they seem sooooooo much better than light cav and can actually win sometimes.
Also, I max out my item points allowance most times.
Good luck
