Title: 2k Goblar army!
Description: YAY!

RasputinII - April 12, 2005 04:11 PM (GMT)
Yay. Now that I have got hold of the army list I have been able to put together a list, which I will build if the list is tournie legal, because this list is just so great :D

Nobby the Gnoblar + his 265 friends V1.0

Head Honcho (LA, Enchanted Shield, Flail, Honcho Helm, 3 Thiefstones, Rhinox)
- Thats MR(3) and a 4+ Ward
Honcho *1 (LA, Sh, Flail, 3 Thief Stones)
Honcho *2 (LA, Sh, Flail, 3 Thief Stones)
Honcho *3 (LA, Sh, Flail, Rhinox Horn)
- The horn gives +2 LD to all Gnoblar units for one Turn
Honcho *4 (LA, Sh, Flail, Purple Rock)
- The Rock gives me a scroll every turn on a 4+, on a 1-3 he takes a S3 hit
Honcho * 5 (LA, BSB)

20 Gnoblar Fighters (LA, Sh), M
20 Gnoblar Fighters (LA, Sh), M
22 Gnoblar Fighters
22 Gnoblar Fighters
23 Gnoblar Fighters

10 Flingers
10 Flingers
10 Flingers
- Gnoblars with slings

24 Man Biters (Flails, LA, Shields), FC <-----Honcho *1 goes here
24 Man Biters (Flails, LA, Shields), FC + Warbanner <-----Honcho *2 goes here
- MBs are S3 Gnoblars

9 Trappers
9 Trappers
9 Trappers

Scrap Launcher
Scrap Launcher
24 Lucky Gits (Sh, LA) FC <------ Honcho *3 goes here
24 Lucky Gits (Sh, LA) FC <------ Honcho *4 goes here
- LGs are Gnoblars who can re-roll all dice rolls, have 6+ Wards and MR (2)

2000pts on the dot :D
266 models
2 PD
2 DD + Purple rock

Don't you just love the list? I am going to pre-empt worrys about magic. As you will notice the General (who I have put on a Rhinox for giggles, because it is a stupid idea tactically) and the two Manbiters units have MR (3) whilst the Lucky Gits have MR (2), and as these are my best units bar the Scrappers which I can't protect I would say my magic coverage is pretty goodly. I have 2 DD to stop any extra things that don't effect me (such as the VC book) or anything else annoying, as well as 2 PD to try and dispel remains in play stuff. Then the best bit, my army only takes panic checks for 25% casualities, so there is no chain reactions going on here.

Then we have the case of how do I plan to deploy. Well I am not sure exactly, but a rough idea would be to put the Lucky Gits on the flanks (with an unarmoured unit of Gnoblars on their flanks) because the LGs have their own BSB re-rolls so don't need to be near him. Then the Centre will be made up of the two Manbiter units the Gneral, the BSB and the Armoured fighters, so as to spread the LD of the general and the BSB re-rolls as far as possible. The trappers will go deep. The Scrappers will be slightly off center, and slightly back so they can do their shooting. :D Then I will either have one unit of fighters behind the list to prevent sneaky things being a pain, or depending on terrain I might be able to put my flingers behind, looking for hills and such. Another option is to make a 30 gnoblar long line of Flingers in front of my army and advance forward very slowly. Well yoou get the idea....

Cheers,

Ras

How totally cool! Where's the list?

Honcho *3 seems to be in 2 units at the same time.I'd talk about the list but I haven't seen it,but assuming that gnoblars work in the same principle as goblins, having units of 20 is a bit small. They're dirt cheap,so take at least 30.

At least,I think they're dirt cheap.

that looks a pretty wicked list and have to say the purple rock will be quite effective if you roll correctly ^_^ . the only bad thing is how will you paint all those models, you will need to hire slaves to paint 4 you or something

but otherwise funny list (even outnumbers skaven, owh)

Xarhain - April 13, 2005 08:39 PM (GMT)
Very interesting. What do theifstones do?

I'm not sure if you'll really be able to get 250 gnoblars done, in addition to 3 rhinox but hey.

Are there no magic casters in the gnoblar list then? Shame, woulda been fun.

I think that if the tiny primitive brain of a noblar could cast magic it would have primitive ability and funny miscast

Hmmm. That looks like a pretty expensive list if you ask me!

Lord of Nonsensical Crap - April 15, 2005 02:25 PM (GMT)
Hmm . . . looks like you've made good use of the list: a lot of basic Gnoblars, and a lot of Honchos for that extra close combat clout and magic resistance.
One thing bugs me, though: why no Slavegiants, Yhetees or even Wolf Riders? Even though they'll outnumber the enemy, the Gnoblars will have a difficult time actually hurting anyone in close combat.

I there RasputinII, i've been looking at you're list and i think that it's a damn funny list to play with. i've been imaging the face of my oponent facing all those little guys in front of him. i just have some doubts:
1st: where did you get the army list of the gnoblar horde?
2nd: why do you have so many heros? (isn't the limit 4 in a 2k battle?)

i guess that those are the main questions cause the others would be answered in the list for sure. could you give me some feedback about the list or wher can i get it?

Also i agree with Lord of Nonsensical Crap. can't you have in the list slavegiants or scraplaunchers? that's weird since the scraplaunchers crew are gnoblars!!!

My regards to all Generals!!!

1. The army list was in WD 300.
2. Two Gnoblar Honchos count as a single Hero choice (so you can, and should, take a lot of 'em)

nit in the U.K it wasn't :( anyone know where to find it in UK wds?

Goblit Skullhelm - June 18, 2005 07:56 PM (GMT)
It hasn't been in the UK WD yet because Guy wanted a break from ogres for a while (HERETIC!), but he said on the WD forum that it would in UK308, IIRC.
