Title: Gnoblar army list
Lord of Nonsensical Crap - April 1, 2005 05:24 PM (GMT)
For those of you who have gotten WD302 (or is it 303?):
What do you think of the new Gnoblar army list?
Myself, I'm pretty surprised that there are no tough, non-Gnobar units in the list at all. Heck, they don't even have Scraplaunchers! Honsetly, what self-respecting Gnoblar force wouldn't have Scraplauchers?
I highly doubt this list would work very effectively in battle -- the Gnoblars would die like ants and flee at every given opportunity.
What do you guys think?

Pah! We haven't got it in the UK yet and it isn't in next month's WD either. If you could send me a scan of it, though, I'd be happy to discuss it with you. ;)
Menbiters sound pretty cool from what I've heard. Mini-maneaters!

Trust me, they aren't that great. They're pretty much higher-LD Gnoblars who can take flails, and can be used as DoW in DoW, Orc and Chaos Dwarf armies.
-Lucky Gits are pretty interesting, though -- they can take light armour, shields, AND they can reroll ANYTHING! Wounds, saves, LD tests, etc.
-Boglars/Toad-Gnoblars are also pretty interesting: they are Gnoblar Trappers which, if they spend a turn immobile in watery terrain, get D6 more models next turn.
And then there's Blood Gnoblars: they're Gnoblar Trappers who can actually set traps!
The oddest unit of all, though, are the Pigback-Riders. They're pretty much Gnoblars who ride piggy-back on other Gnoblars, have spears that can give them +1 strength like cavalry on the charge, and fight in ranks in subsequent rounds (oh yes, and they're US2 like other cavalry). The fact that they are only S3 on the charge, though, is pretty unimpressive.
A Gnoblar Lord is called a Head Honcho, and he can ride a Rhinox. Hero-level Gnoblars are called Honchos, and one of them can take a battle standard. Unfotunately, the Gnoblar list has NO spellcasters whatsoever, and the only tough monsters they have are the Rhinox mounts for Head Honchos.

Wow, now I want it even more! Toad-Gnoblars should be handy in the Lustria campaigns that they're bound to be running in the summer, and Blood Gnoblars sound like what Trappers should have been.
Goblit wants the article even more now...

Man I want to see that list. I love Gnoblars :D. If soem one has a scanner please email them to me. If you do just ask and I will send you my address. I want Gnoblars. Who cares about spell casters, nothing matters when you play Gnoblars!
Lucky Gits sound so great. Please some one email/PM me the list! PLEASE!
P.S. Is the list official and thus Tournie Legal?
Lord of Nonsensical Crap - April 2, 2005 04:04 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I think it's legal.
I went over it again, and apparently, you CAN take Scraplaunchers (and Slavegiants!)
You can also take Orcs or Common Goblins as Rare choices. The only DoW you can take, though, are Greenskin ones (ie. Hobgoblins)
ALSO, Gnoblar Fighters can now take 2hws or light armour and shields.
And some things I forgot to mention:
Manbiters are strength 3. Yes, that's right: strength 3 Gnoblars!!!!!!
Also, Pigback Riders have 2 attacks each.

Lord: Is it possible for you to send me thee rules? I know its alot to ask, but I be desperate!

Isn't it still illegal? GW makes anything like that illegal, even if it wouldn't hurt them. <_<
Annoying I know, I want the Gnoblar list too :(
