Name: Hans Mueller
Age: 38
Race: Human

History:
Hans grew up on the streets of Altdorf, an orphan forced to steal to eek out a living. From a young age, Hans showed an affinity for stealth and thievery. Joining gangs in the slums of Altdorf, Hans was nearly killed in a street fight. Deciding that he would not longer be pushed around, Hans decided to learn how to defend himself, for protection either when a heist went bad or to defend his ill-gotten gains from other street trash who preferred to take from a skilled thief than to steal the goods themselves. Growing up on the streets, Hans didn’t learn how to fight with a sword or a shield or any other expensive and fancy weapon, he learned how to fight with knives and daggers. He became quite skilled with knives, and gained a reputation on the streets as a skilled fighter as well as thief. He grew into a professional thief, traveling from city to city across the empire in search of wealthy clients. And after finishing a job, Hans had no qualms about picking the pocket of his employer. Soon, he was a wanted man in ten cities, and Hans decided to put his life as a thief on hold and try his hand at mercenary work. Despite his skills with knives, he found that he couldn’t really match up to skilled soldiers, and had to rely on stealth to finish the job. Hans has since combined both professions, making a living either stealing or hunting bounties, though his real skills lie in stealth rather than open combat.

Personality:
Hans is somewhat secretive, but eventually opens up to those he likes. He is not necessarily unfriendly, but does not like to engage in conversation with those he does not know, and he is very suspicious when it comes to strangers.

Equipment:
Crossbow pistol, set of six throwing knives, a pair of long daggers, climbing rope, lockpick set. Hans wears a long black cloak and hood, and his shirt and trousers are dark grey. He wears boiled leather boots and no gloves.

Anything Else:
Hans prefers to avoid open brawls, preferring to engage his opponents where he can make the terrain suit his own skills in stealth. If it comes to open ground, Hans prefers to take out his opponents at range either with his crossbow pistol or his throwing knives.

Reason for coming to salzenheim:
Hearing about the strange goings-on at salzenheim, Hans has decided to find out if there could be a quick mark in it for him. Feeling that brute force really wouldn’t be the answer to solving a mystery, Hans figures that his skills as a thief would be in high demand, as stealth would most likely be the key to solving the mysterious deaths that seemed to be occurring with surprising regularity.

Could I reserve a spot until Tueaday Ross? I'm so busy until then that'll be the first chance for me to do it.

Ross - March 20, 2005 07:49 PM (GMT)
Okay,I've got an elf and a human, which are both great,so thanks guys. You can PM the characters if you want.

EDIT:Just saw cally's post.Yeah,I'll try and keep a space for you,but you'll have to be quick and choose your race early on.

Prince Cal - March 20, 2005 08:33 PM (GMT)
I choose a Goblin! I now can't wait to get going.

Goblit Skullhelm - March 20, 2005 08:46 PM (GMT)
If I might make a suggestion?

The goblin works in Into The Kingdoms because it's set away from the Olde World, near the Silver Road. Anything can get hired as a mercenary 'round those parts.

If this is set in the middle of the Empire, you're gonna need a damn good reason for anyone to accept a goblin into their town, let alone hire one.

Just my two pennies.

O.K,

when a dozen or so people start dieing of strange circumstances in your town, you woudn't really be too picky on who you pick to help you.Plus, this mission requires stealth and sneakiness, and goblins have both of those "qualities".

lee_chitty - March 21, 2005 11:42 PM (GMT)
Ok I wasnt sure whether my elf would suffice but it seems to fit. ALso if you could pm me when we start that way i can make sure im encluded because the article jumped 4 post since i last looked. ALso Kael Anduars human was a good model for my characters build cause i had to make off the top of my head so i followed Kael Anduar as a guide. Cya
PS cal i cant wait to see your goblin and could you in clude ligistics (height weight ect it could help paint a pic for are readers.

Prince Cal - March 22, 2005 07:02 PM (GMT)
Lee, off course I'll go into extra detail on his appearance. Ross, could it be tomorrow as I'm slightly busy at tonight so I've only half done Skroznit.

Ross - March 23, 2005 11:10 AM (GMT)
Of course Cal.
Note:we still need a dwarf and a Ogre,so if anyone likes RPG;s fell free ot create a character.

Vriishnak the Twisted - March 23, 2005 01:18 PM (GMT)
...Ross, it really doesn't seem like you've thought this through. You're saying that townsfolk have been dying, they're all probably terrified and paranoid, and yet you still claim they'd accept help from a goblin - an enemy that most have probably only heard of in tales to frighten children, aside from the soldiers who have fought, killed, and watched their friends be killed by them - and an ogre!?

Both of the characters would likely have been either driven from the town or lynched by now - sure, it's possible that they're not evil, but the people here are definitely not feeling especially tolerant, especially of creatures that could likely smash half the population before being brought down.

Prince Cal - March 23, 2005 04:14 PM (GMT)
I hate to do this but I'm going to upll out. It's too hard to justiy a reason why they'd let Skroznit help them. He'll probably be used in another rpg though.

Name: Slodin Ironbrook

Age: 70

Race:Dwarf

History: banished for theft from his father's safe, spent 5 years with a regiment of kossaks fighting chaos marauders but left when he met a group of maneaters. enticed by the mercenary lifestyle and possesing the knowledge of old world economics that the Ogres were so lacking of, Slodin quickly became the leader of his small band.

Personality: Greed has pushed Slodin not only from his family, but now from his race. He is generally easygoing and accepting of differences so long as they do not interfere with his quest for gold and other shiny materials.

Equipment: Slodin carries a cathayan longsword that he took from the Ogre leader he killed to attain his position. He wears patched and unprettily mended gromil plate armor.

Anything else:

reason for coming to salzenheim: As a port city, salzenheim attracts all forms of people, and therefore all forms of employment. due to their brutish appearence, Slodin's band have a way of avoiding others and therefore remaining ignorant to current events, therefore it was only apon their arrival that they discovered the city's state of affairs.

lee_chitty - March 25, 2005 09:20 PM (GMT)
@ Calli IM sorry to see you go Calli maybe we can get another seasonded player to join.
@240 inches dwarves i never new they could be that way ps maybe we could have some rivalry.

@ ross im sorry i forgot the 3rd most important part to arterius he only wears a cloak he had inchanted by a figure of importance in the bretonian army no more said for now (tied to the hoarse thing)

Prince Cal - March 26, 2005 09:23 PM (GMT)
Cheers Lee. Honestly 240" you background is ridiculous, ogres would never accept a dwarf into their band. It's also rather short and you can't get an idea of much about him because of that.

Isn't that a bit flammy and mean. Your just basically saying, "your characters crap and will never get in". Try to be a bit nicer.

Prince Cal - March 26, 2005 10:16 PM (GMT)
Shaargor, it's not meant to be. I'm saying that the concept is stupid which it is and that it's rather short. I'll edit it though.

Ross - March 29, 2005 11:38 AM (GMT)
Well when i read the characters fluff,I thought it was an ogre.

lee_chitty - April 11, 2005 11:15 PM (GMT)
Its been what 13 days are we going to start this or are we going to drop it and make me save arterius silverwind for anohter RPG

lee_chitty - April 12, 2005 10:09 PM (GMT)

LordChilipepa - April 13, 2005 07:49 AM (GMT)
I do believe this is dead. Topic locked: if I have acted wrongly, I urge the creator to PM me and I will unlock it in a jiffy.
