Title: Necromunda
Description: Q's

ImperialGrunt - January 31, 2005 05:57 AM (GMT)
I've been a fan of the 40k genre for a long time. But, as I've never gone into a specialist game, I've been long looking at Necromunda. Thing is, I can't get the people who run the specialist games site to answer any q's...first off, does Necromunda have a boxed set like 40k did, fantasy, and LOTR? or do I buy the rule book and a gang seperate?

I'm afraid that I don't know much about the 40K Specialist Games, but I DO know that the Living Rulebook for Necromunda has just been put up on the official site.

Living rulebook=the accual game rule book? I heard that it had 2 things, a hard back rulebook and a 'living rulebook' for updates and stuff.

The living rulebook contains all of the game rules, including the updates. Rules that have been changed are changed in the living rulebook, so it's totally up to date.

So you can just read the living rulebook and you won't need any Fanatic magazines, town cryers, white dwarfs, etc.

Wish they'd do it for WFB...

Alright so no boxed set (I=Collecter :-p) And just get a gang and go?

pretty sure there may be a box set... There is for Mordheim, abd Bloobbowl, and warmaster (out of production now though)... SO Nec SHOULD have one. Ask your local GW.

There was a box set released ages ago for Necromunda, It contained quite alot of building scenery and two gangs, The Orlocks and the Goliaths.

Umm... for those of us (me) who have no idea what Necromunda is... do you think you could fill us in?

Gang warfare on the planet Necromunda. Raise a gang and survive in the harshest areas possable--the Underhives of Necromunda!

It does have a boxed set, but there's no real reason to get it: the LRB has the up to date rules, and you can easily get the models by buying them separately or converting them (the catachan boxed set should have the parts to make a lot of the gangs, with the cadians well suited to many of the others). The boxed set is also hard to find (I think mail order still stocks it, but not in all countries), so save yourself the hassle and just use LRB and 40k miniatures.

Hmm, looks like I'll also take the dive and get into Necromunda too! Excellent chances for a story...
