Title: Arena
Description: Deaf, defeat, blood, can you take it?
Shaargor - January 14, 2005 08:46 PM (GMT)
I'm going to do arena. Maybe a leaque, but will start with a tournie. For rules just go to the intersite arena, here:
http://invisionfree.com/forums/Warhammer_P...topic=5531&st=0Anyway, I'm considering names, none of which are quite right, so any sugestions would be great.
I won't enter one myself as it could complicate things.
I'll need 16 palacers to join so, without further ado, start signing!

Darth Vader, Chosen of Khorne
Anakin Skywalker was born in the Empire's capital city of Altdorf 150 years ago. Before he reached his teens he was stolen away from his family by a group of Witch Hunters led by the infamous Qui-Gon Jinn and his apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi. These Witch Hunters were convinced that they could turn the power of Chaos (or THE FORCE, as they called it) against itself, and took Anakin because they believed that they had strong links to it. Qui Gon was killed by the infamous Champion of Chaos Darth Maul before he could witness the fruits of his ideas, but Anakin was indeed strong in THE FORCE. Rather than using his powers for good, however, Anakin attacked and nearly killed his master Obi-Wan, then fled to the Chaos Wastes. Blessed with a suit of chaos armour and a shiny red lightsaber, Anakin took the name Darth Vader and began his reign of terror over the Old World...

THE FORCE - Mark of Khorne
THE FORCE is strong with this one...
Vader is frenzied. In addition, his presence of the battlefield adds +1 dispel dice
Lightsaber - Chaos Daemonsword
Vader's main weapon is his lightsaber, capable of slicing through the strongest of armour.
Darth has the same WS, S, I and A as a Bloodthirster (sorry, can't think of a Star Wars name for ir). This gives him WS10, S7, I10 and A7. Any rolls of a one to hit hits Darth instead of his opponent.
Black Armour - Chaos Armour
You've seen the films, you know what this looks like.
4+ armour save, can be combined with other equipment.
Thingy - Enchanted Shield
Em....
Shield, +2 Armour Save
TIE Fighter - Barded Chaos Steed
TOTAL = 246pts
You have the stats for a Chaos Steed, don't you?

King Ulrik Flamebeard - January 16, 2005 05:18 PM (GMT)
Lord Ulthar Stonebeard of Karaz Drak
Lord Ulthar is an old dwarf, now nearing his fith century upon the world. Yet he can still life a fully laydened cart whilst downing a full barrel of Bugmans, a feat of which very few can even hope to achieve. Once captain of the Ironbreakers Ulthar was ambushed by grobi, cut off from his brothers he ended up wondering the grobi caverns for years. He learnt the art of stalking them and hunting in stealth, even when clad in gromril armour. His passage would be marked by the ruined corpses of the greenskins that lain strewn in bloody macabre positions.
He finally escaped the caverns when the greenskins broke into his former home, even the years below the city couldn't damper his homesickness. Enraged he charged the goblins and hewed about him, his runic axe proving too much for their blackened cloth and pathetic armour as it sliced through it leaving bloody grooves and arcs in his wake. He fought to the end before being hit from behind with a large rock, waking he found his home ruined and his people slain. Removing his helmet he slowly reached up and cut the greying locks that fell from his head till only a thin strip remained. Swearing the slayer oath Ulthar went into the world to find his death, it is here that he finally heard of an arena filled with the best fighters the world has to offer. It is here he'll find his death.

Fluff:
Lord pappillion is a chosen one of some higher being.
Lord pappillion was born as a Normal Empire Sergent in a high status family, but one day his village was attacked by vampires, and all of his village turned into undeads, But Pappillion was transformed into a Vampire...
After joining forces with his "transformers" he quikly began to rise in the ranks, and eventually ended he in the top, as the general. He was rewarded by his God with a creature of the outer world A winged nightmare... together with his new creature, and his army did he decided to go on a killing raid, eventually ending up outside a harbour......
There He found out, that six other armies of his armies size was stationed near. Two empire armies was on the other site of a village not far away. Together with them were a Bretonian army. On the other site, just some miles from Lord Pappillions army was a daemonic legion army and a druchii.
Lord pappillion decided to join with the "evil" ones and ended up in a major battle.
It was first in the mist of the battle that Pappillion bothered to find out why the battle was fought!: A legendary artifact was rumered to be inside the small village.
With that information Lord Pappillion retreated from the battle, and went to attack the village all alone. This was a huge mistake.
Inside that village were a sorceress with enourmos powers, and she banished him to an outer plane without his winged nightmare.
It took Lord Pappillion centuries to return to the world, but finally he managed.
Now Lord Pappillion has decided to join this tournament to prove to his God, that he deserve a second chance....
If he win, he expects to be rewarded with a zombie dragon by his God....
That will help him reach his final goal: To make the world a dead place to live

Dreq has told me that if we get deperate he will join, but at the progress were making at the moment, were a long way from desperate.
Cally it's a bit early to challenge, but I think goblit will decline it if he has any sense.

In battle, it glows with a brilliant inner light, and the wounds that it leaves are often charred and billowing smoke.) (Grants +2 strengh, +40 points)

Lord of Nonsensical Crap - January 17, 2005 11:01 PM (GMT)
Somewhere to the west of the Empire lies the Squirrel Empire, a dark land of forest and canopy. Well, alright…..the Squirrel Empire is an Empire in name only: it is little more than a patch of woodland to the west of Ostland. However, all attempts to log the forest have been met with failure: woodsmen come back from the forest bedraggled and hysterical, gibbering about giant squirrels that attack from the trees, and of strange voices floating around the forest, speaking up at random moments and saying sinister things such as “You smell like cabbages.”
Of course, the voices are just the result of the woodsmen sampling the mushrooms in the forest, but the giant squirrels are real: they rule this area of woodland and call it the Squirrel Empire (for want of a more imaginative name). The Squirrels are short, bushy-tailed creatures who have a tendency to be easily confused (they are predominantly confused about how they came into existence, why they are different from normal squirrels, and why the heck they’re called Squirrels anyway). They have occasionally come into conflict with Imperial expeditions into their woodland, conflicts that usually end with Imperial troops running screaming out of the woods with body parts missing and visible teeth marks all over them.
Nigel D. Squirrel is an outcast from this Squirrel society: he has the grave misfortune of having eaten another Squirrel. While Squirrels were cannibals at one point, they eventually realized how counter-productive this was and outlawed it. While Nigel only ate that other Squirrel because he was hungry (or at least, that’s what he told the judge), he was nonetheless banished from the Empire. Since then, Nigel was wandered the four corners of the earth, always looking for something to do and something to eat. He has now wandered into Rezephua, and hopes to at least get a decent meal here.
Nigel D. Squirrel (Skaven Plague Lord)
M-5 Ws-6 Bs-3 S-4 T-5 W-3 I-5 A-5 Ld-7
Hunting Spear (Languisher Sword)- Nigel usually carries with him a sharp wooden spear (or, rather, a long, sharpened tree branch) which he uses to stab any poor creature he happens to be hunting (even if it's another squirrel!). For all extents and purposes, this spear is pretty much non-magical. However, in battle, its long reach, combined with Nigel's tendency to go into a panic, allows him to strike quickly and rapidly. (Always strikes first.)- 25 points
Shiny Stone Thingy (Warpstone Amulet)- Nigel found this strange artefact somewhere in the Grey Mountains; he has no idea what it is or how it works, but the fact that it is pretty and shiny is a good enough reason for him to keep it. The fact that it tends to ward off enemy blows is an added bonus. (4+ ward save) -25 points
Favour of the Squirrel Gods (Bands of Power)- Unbeknownst to Nigel, the Nutty Squirrel Gods know of his plight, and smile with embarrassed pity on him. Perhaps that would explain why Nigel is occasionally filled with super-squirrel strength and power with which to smite the enemies of Squirrel-kind. (bound level 3 spell; user gets x2 strength) -25 points
Frenzy- well, actually, Nigel isn't ferocious or frenzied or anything.....he's just pretty fast (and rather hungry)
Total: 205 points
Nigel is a short (roughly slightly taller than a Dwarf) brown-furred Squirrel who wears a grey traveller's cloak. Around his neck he wears the "shiny thing" (which, unbeknownst to him, is a shard of warpstone. . . all he knows is that's it's not edible). He is rather cartoonish in appearance, with a pair of buckteeth sticking out from his top jaw, a bushy tail protruding from beneath his cloak, and a continually confused expression on his face.

| Pelt of the Black Lion (Hallarith earned his title during a journey to the distant southlands. He was on a ship that was attacked by Druchii corsairs, and forced to land on the desert coast for repairs. While searching for water, he was attacked by a savage black lion, at least twice the size of any ordinary hunting cat. Nevertheless, he defeated the creature after a gruelling battle, and took its pelt for his own. The creature was seemingly impervious to the ship's wizard's spells, and this immunity seems to have remained in the creature's stolen skin.) (Talisman of Saphery, negates magical weapon and treats them as non-magical equivalents instead, +30 points) |

Huan-Aretzl, the mighty saurus challenges the Dwarven Lord Ulthar Stonebeard, do you accept?
Lord of Nonsensical Crap - January 18, 2005 04:44 PM (GMT)
Let's get it straight: is it my character that needs changing, or Aesgerath's?
If it's mine, then tell me, what's wrong with Nigel? I need to know so I can correct him.
Shaargor - January 18, 2005 04:56 PM (GMT)
Sorry, got the wrong name.
Aesgareth - January 18, 2005 04:56 PM (GMT)
Hey, I just figured that if the daemon sword was unbanned, everything was. I'll go change him.
Shaargor - January 18, 2005 05:04 PM (GMT)
The daemon sword has the roll a one rule, though it is pretty powerful.
With that and the rune shield, Chaos get a damn good deal of this.
The_Eye - January 18, 2005 05:08 PM (GMT)
I think that if aesgareth isn't allowed to take the talisman, goblit isn't allowed to take the runeschield.....I mean, they have the same effects.....
Shaargor - January 18, 2005 05:46 PM (GMT)
Goblit isn't taking the runeshield, Cally is. Anyway, I don't want to change the rules now so if you want to rid the shield from this arena, kill Cally.
