25 pike men
24 pike men
12 duellists
4 heavy cavalry
5 light cavalry
Cannon

Captain
-Heavy armour
-Enchanted shield
-Warhorse
-Barding
-Lance

Paymaster
-Heavy armour
-Great weapon

Hireling wizard
-Level 2

Total points - 1000

My plan is simple but lengthy please bear with me, the captain joins the heavy cavalry, the paymaster joins the smaller unit of pike men.

I will deploy the cannon first on my right flank forcing my all cavalry (with a few archers) Bretannian army to deploy on my left or be shot to bits.

If they take the hint and deploy strongly on my left then a will put the pike men right next to the board edge with the skirmishers guarding the right flank. The heavy cavalry will be to the skirmishers right, just close enough to the cannon to be able to get there in a turn or two (depending on board size) and protect them if the bretts send a 200+ unit over there out of the game to get those 85 point crew. The light cavalry will be deployed last and its position will depend on the enemy position as I will outnumber the bretts (so they will finish deploying first) and so can place him to face a hole in their battle line.

Once combat starts the light cavalry goes through the gap in their line and straight for lone damsels and archers. The cannon fires at units with characters and the rest of my units hold (if the Bretts turn around to face my cavalry the my line approaches there rear forcing them to leave the peasants to fight by cavalry.

After his long range units are out of the way (he doesn’t have many) my cannon will fire forcing him to come to my pretty pikes slowly (because of the light cavalry) or quickly (if my cavalry are still fighting archers or just lying on the battle field.

As soon as he engages with the pikes my skirmishers and heavy cavalry hit his flank and if they’re still alive my light cavalry hit the same units rear. This overwhelming combat resolution ought to force them to flee allowing my units to move onto the next unit of knights and hopefully I can role up their battle line.

If they deploy on the right then I will do the same as before but anchor my units to the right flank not the left.

If the deploy in the middle or just look like there not going for the pikmen then all the units shuffle to the centre and the skirmishers go to the unprotected flank.

I thank you for any feedback you are prepared to give.

Im not all too familar with DoW, but from what I know and from your description it looks like a good list combined with a witty strategy. Unfortunate that nobody felt obliged to comment on the list.

Did you fight the battle by now? If yes, how did the army do?

Thanks.

The Plan went of withput a hitch. he deployed all his knights streaching from my far left to the centre. his damsels and archers were taken care of and my heavy cavalry and pikes desroyed him knights of errent.

one thing i noticed though was that my duelists were far less affective than i thought.
