Title: I'm in a really bad position... 500 points dwarfs!
Description: I need a 500 point list against dwarfs!!

Zephyro - December 2, 2004 05:17 PM (GMT)
Hi people.

I'm needing a good 500 point list against dwarfs (it may be border patrol)

I thought of something like:

1 liche priest
1 tomb scorpion
1 tomb swarm
16 skeletons warriors with hw and shield
10 tomb guard.

My swarm tries to hold his units into combat while mine move forward.
The scorpion is against warmachine etcetera.

My opponents list is:
1 thane
16 warriors
10 thunderers
1 organ gun

Can you people help me!!

Think about using carrion, if the scorpion doesn't come up in the right place your entire plan could be blown and one swarm probably isn't going to accomplish much either except give your opponent a free kill.

Wow, your going to have some trouble. Dwarves are relatively good in smaller games, and TK is almost unwinnable in 500 point games(well, atleast it isnt a 200 warband game...) Just try to get as many regiments as possible; spread out your numbers into the minimum and make sure you refill ranks as soon as they start to fall.

Following your advise archseer, I would say too have:

1 liche priest with hieratic jar
1 tomb scorpion
16 warriors with shield and hw+light armor
16 warriors with shield and hw+light armor

What do you think.

I think this is the best I could get.

JUst dig the scorpion to kill his machine, And out maneuvre him with my skellies.

What do you people think of:

1 liche priest 115
20 archers 160
16 skeletons with hw and shield+light armor 144
1 tomb scorpion 85

Total: 504 points.

My opponent and I have agreed that he only has 2 dispel dice against me.
This list is also against high elves, beastman (really maybe) and skaven (really really maybe).

They are all-ready dead so don't just say stupid things ^_^

Tomb kings are good in 500 points BORDER PATROl games because they are bad in normal, because of the 2 characters rule.
In border you only have one charcter, that is powerfull.

My list is good, and has kicked High elves, and Dwarfen ****.
And not by luck but by good tactics and playing.

Just make a list In which all units have roles which they can accomplish to let you win.

actually i had the same experience as u had months ago. my solution is get more skellie archers. counter shoot our enemies. remember that a dead dwarf remains dead. while we can resurrect. yes they have 4 dispel dices but sometimes we can get thru. with 8 pts per model there is alot of archers we can get. for organ guns. get the carrion flying. i suggest get the hieratic jar and use it well in the first turn

I use a scorpion, because it's more effective and it can help me fighting his thane and thunderers in the back.

my opponent thinks Tomb Kings are very bad in 500 and so only uses 2 dispel dice in favor of me

20 archers are enough if you get an incantation on them.

Heavy horsemen are also good because they have a high unit strength, and can also have a banner and deal out some real damage.

I even tried a list once, where I put a mounted liche priest in a group of heavy horsmen with resuruction banner and full command.
He also had some fun stuff.

It was half of my points but who cares :D

They were jsut 1 big treath and every man which was shot just returned and crushed his battleine after some time.

hmm intresting good huh, i haven't noticed yet, and less have, ok i admit tactics are very important but somehow border patrol isn't the best game to play with TK.
another thing you won against dwarf but you agreed with your friend that he only had 2 dispell dices... play regular and use 4 it will be a lot harder no magic at all or once when u use the hieratic jar... close combat against dwarves and you'll crumble... i just don't get it... archers against dwarfs are usefull only the scorp is very nice! now you have to tell me how you killed that dude!

greetz,
saritor

ps what was the dwarven army list? :ph43r:

I killed him by using:

8 heavy horsemen with banner
1 liche priest
20 archers
1 tomb scorpion

502 points

He used:
1 thane
16 warriors
10 thunerers
1 organ gun.

I first shot down his thunderers by 3, making him to take a panic test.
He survived.

My liche priest did some fine incantations on the skeleton archers, and they shot down 1 other thunderer

my heavy horsemen were walking along the flanks.

HIS TURN

He first moved his dwarf warriors to my heavy horsmen, who were on the other side of the field.
(dwarf warriors on the left, horsemen on the right.

He then shot with his thunderers to my archers, and shot down thw whole number of 2. ( he walked and long range)

MY 2ND TURN

My scorpion popped up, not too far away from where I placed him, and charged the organ gun crew.

My heavy horsemen smashed into the thunderers side.

My archers shot at his warriors, and killed 2.
my liche priest did the battle incantation again, and my archers shot down 2 warriors again.

Then my Tomb scorpion killed his whole crew that turn, and overran into his thane.
He stucked with the thane, and cause only 1 wound. The thane did the same.

my horsemen did a great job, killing 3 thunderers!! He was just lost!!
They did a break test, and did not fail again.

HIS 2ND TURN:

His warriors moved close to my horsemen, trying to stop em next turn.

His thunderers atacked my horsemen with 1 guy, and killed none.
my horsemen killed 2 thunderers, and 1 was left.

His thane did 1 wound to my tomb scorpion but my scorpion did killing blow, and 2 times poison on him.Woohoo!

My 3rd turn

I shot at his warriors, killing 2
In magic phase, shot down 2 again.

Horsemen killed the last thunderer

The tomb scorpion was walking close to the rear of the warriors, waiting to strike If he attacked my horsemen.

His 3rd turn.

He charged my horsemen.
And he killed 2 horsemen.

My horsemen killed 1 dwarf, and so it was a equal score.

My 4th turn

I smashed my tomb scorpion in the dwarven warriors rear

I shot with my archers, causing 1 dead warrior.

My liche priest did the fighting incantation on the cavalry, causing 1 dead warrior.

In the fighting phase, My tomb scorp killed 3 dwarfs because of poion and killing blow.

The horsemen killed 2 dwarfs, and the dwarf did nothing.

He lost by 8 and ran.
I pursued and killed him.

You see, you just need to be patient and thin em out.
Maybe I had some lucky dice, But I also rolled bad sometimes.

you can't attack straight after overrunning

otherwise congratulations on the win.
