Title: Arena Of Death
Description: An oldie, but a goodie...

Been thinking about this for a while:

did anyone read UK wd issue 221? Its pretty old, but the jist of the article was that they pitted all of the special chracters against each other in an arena. The winner decided who was the best.

So here i am, standing before you asking you to put in stats of the special character you want to use in this arena.

Is this a good idea? i know a lot of people think that archaon is hard etc. so post feedback please (and your character)

Greater daemons will be allowed, but only one from each god alignment.

GOOD LUCK! :thumb:

no point limit?
must it be an excisting special character or can you make up your own?
and can you make your own magic items and rules?

sorry, i forgot about that:

No, no points limit
And it has to be an existing special character (found in the back of an army book)

Also, could you post up what each and every magic item etc does when you post a char

You can see diffrent names of special characters but not with their stats. Can you use them in this arena?

He said SPECIAL character (ie. Karl Franz, Green Knight, Archaon if you're cheesy enough)
Here's two possible suggestions:
1- Certain special characters will dominate the arena, so set it up so only characters up to a certain points value may enter (say . . . 500 points?)
2- If two characters with heavily uneven points costs are fighting (ie. a 500 point character vs. an 800 point one), then, on a certain D6 roll, have a unit/monster/character associated with the underdog's race (and costing as much as the difference between the two) will charge in and help the underdog out. This system was used in an arena on the Rezephua board called "Come and have a go if you think yer ard enough." Examples include:
-Skaven Plague Lord vs. Tyrion -- at one point, Imrik charged in to help the Plague Lord
-Bretonnian Lord vs. Grimgore -- on a certain roll, Felix Jaeger would have helped
-High Elf on Dragon vs. Malekith -- a Manticore and a Hydra helped out the Elf Prince
-Empire Master Engineer vs. Gotrek -- a bunch of Trolls helped the puny human out
-Bloodthirster vs. Archaon -- at one point, a Giant came in to assist the 'Thirster.

You get the idea.

Thats a good idea, because i dont think that there should be a pts limit on the characters. This is because it keeps certain races out of participating.

The "helpers" don't even have to belong to the same race as the underdog (so long as there is a fluff reason for them helping). Check out the "Come and have a go if you think yer 'ard enough" arena in the Archives section of the Arena of Rezephua to find out more.
