I'm intrested what runes your gonna put on a thane in a 500 pts battle.

I usually take or the mro swiftness+ro cleaving+ ro stone, or ro fury+ro cleaving+ro stone. Both come with gromrill armour and shield of course.

I'm think of trying this:
Thane, gromrill armour, gw
ro stone+mro spite
117 pts...

Good combo?

For 500 points, the best thane has Gromril Armour, a Rune of Stone, and a great weapon. 72 points, leaving you enough to get a significant force on the battlefield, and he still has 3 S6 attacks and a 3+ save.

I think Vanilla thane or Thane of Pain is best choises and cheap.

Vanilla Thane: Gromril Armour, Rostone, Great Weapon

Thane of Pain: Gromril armour, hand weapon and shield, RoCleaving, MRoSwiftness, RoStone!

mr of gromril and rune of resitance - 1+ re-rollable save

or

gromril armour, shield, hand weapon, rune of stone, rune of resitance - 1+ re-rollable save in combat or 2+ re-rollable save against missile weaponry :fight:

the second one is a really bad combo, that thane lacks a bit close combat power, the as is not all that matters....

The best combo has to be
Thane
light armour (incase of pesky vauls unmaking)
Master rune of gromil
Great weapon

then either have the rune of resistance (against armys that have a lot of low-average strentgh attacks)

or the rune of iron (incase you come up against hight strentgh things or killing blow)

nope the thane of pain is the best,its worked for me soo much.he can dish out 4 st 5 attacks,which should keep you with a better combat resolution,plus he has a 2+ AS so he's quite safe.

i prefer 3 s6 attacks with a 1+ armour save, it dunt matter if he strikes last cos hes a caracter with 1 of the lowest i in the game

Master rune of spite you need protection you know.
