Title: Arena of Champions
Description: Come one, come all...
KaelTheFurious - October 25, 2004 07:25 PM (GMT)
I'm going to start an arena here, you are welcome to enter any character. Preferably with fluff so that when I'm describing the fights I can have a feel as to how the character is etc...
As far as the rules for the arena go, the character will have a 300 point limit. Can be a lord or a hero, however hero's will have an allowance of 100 points of magic items.
Challenges will be accepted in any round, but they have to be stated before the round starts of course, otherwise I'll just pair up whoever seems equal. Killing blow will do d2 + 1 wounds. Magic items that are banned are the usual etc. etc...
The arena format will be pretty simple, I'll get everything described and such once there are a few characters so that I can make the setting realistical to the particular group...yeah that's about all. Good luck and have fun. I'll be posting a character as well...But I'll get someone else to roll for my battles.
Yeah I changed the point limit to 300...
LordKjarl - October 25, 2004 08:01 PM (GMT)

The_Eye - October 26, 2004 06:16 PM (GMT)
Here is mine:
Garagrim the War Wourner, The long forgotten brother of Garagrim the War Mourner( :P ), used to be a slayer, but because his father(Ungrim Ironfist)liked the War Mourner more than him, he really didn't wanted to be like his brother, he hates his brother, father and any other dwarf, just because everyone disliked him. He hates every large, scary, terrifing etc. thing, because he hates it to be attacked by something scary. He is a very fast dwarf indeed and still couldn't get of some of his slayer aspects. He is always wandering around, always one with the nature and travels a lot.

He carries the great axe of valaya, wears rune-armour and has the talisman of Topek, the ancient lizardmen god.
The Axe Of Valaya:
Given to Garagrim by his father when he was just a little kid, this axe is said to be very devestating.
Confers due his gigantic size +2 strenght to the wielder, it requires 2 hands to use, but strikes in initiative order. The attacks form the axe count as flaming attacks.
20 pts
Garagrim's Rune-Armour:
Made for Garagrim by his only friend, a great runesmith, this armor is said to hold even against the strongest attacks.
Confers a 3+ armour save and a 5+ ward save, in addition, against every attack, the armor save is always taken at a 3+, it can't me modified be high strength, but it can be modified by every other armour save and cancelled by no-armour-save-allowing-weapons.
80 pts
The Talisman of Topek:
Found by Garagrim on one of his many travels. When he was in Lustria, he found the talisman in a forgotten temple, after beating the ancient guardians gaurding it. It is said that the lizardmen are still looking for it.
Confers magic resistance(2)
20 pts
Special rules:
Garagrim is frenzied, stupid, stubborn and has hatred against dwarfs and fear- and terror-causing enemies, altough he still fears them.

Garagrim still has the slayer rule(strenght is always equal agianst the enemies toughness, excpet if it already was higher.)

AravarGaldean - October 26, 2004 07:44 PM (GMT)
Aravar Galdean is a self-contained elf who was borna nd raised in the province of Tiranoc. Unlike most of his bretheren, though, he does not prefer to traditional way of the chariot, but has his own horse, Maevanis, and is almost as proficiant on his horse as any Ellyrion horse lord. Aravar also likes to carry, when he is facing single enemies, magic swords and armour that any elf would envy. Now, Aravar has been eleminated from the finals at the Provincional Areana of Death, representing Tiranoc. He is currently fighting in the wraith gate in the Asur effort to stabalize thier position in Naggaroth.

Additional Hand weapon (6pts)- 1 extra attack
in all this is 216 pts. sry I couldn't make it more, but I believe that this lord is sufficiantly kickass
KaelTheFurious - October 26, 2004 08:04 PM (GMT)
Ok. All the characters so far are accepted. Kjarl, preferably not the demonic mount please.
On another note, I do so challenge Aravar Galdean for my first round. We need atleast 8 characters for this to start...hopefully 18 though.

Alright so far we have 6 characters, and 2 matches.
Fight Lineup:
Kjarl v.s. Kih Ti
Curt v.s. Aravan
We still need 2 more characters to get this on the road. But I'll talk to two friends tonight and they should be able to. So I'll write the description for the arena up tonight, and we'll get it started in 24 hours.

Already pointed it out jakz.
Ki no need to post that, but twice! Please don't do it again.
I think I will wait for one of the other two as kurt has already been taken.
KaelTheFurious - October 28, 2004 01:21 PM (GMT)
Dammit, it would seem that we have to wait a bit longer to start since Luc Arkhame and whoever my other friend is on this site (not sure) haven't posted their chars left. I'll call them both tonight so we can get this on the road. Sorry for the delay.

NOTE: This char will never act first in any battle, he is praying for the Lady's protection and hence must sacrifice any chance of making the first move.

Khrangar - October 28, 2004 06:54 PM (GMT)
I realize that there have been 2 more characters added but I'll add another one anyway in case someone else wants to join or is illegal or whatever.

Malystryx is a leader of a northern tribe of Norscans who worship Shornaal (Slaanesh) in all his glory. Despite seeming weak, Malystryx has an unnatural strength that flows within him and can be seen as a green glow coming out his eyes. He is festooned with all manner of tattoos and piercings that were part of the ritual that gave him this great strength. He raids mercilessly killing all but those who he takes as prisoners. Some say that he may have been the lover of Dechala, but no one really knows, nor do they live long should they ask.
KaelTheFurious - October 28, 2004 09:17 PM (GMT)
Sorry to say that Aesgareth is out because he failed to enter a legal character before the 8th slot was filled.
This is the fight order, I'll have all the fluff written out for tomorrow but prolly wont post it until Saturday, that's when the first fights are gonna be posted.
Curt v.s. Aravar
Kjarl v.s. Kih-Ti
Imrahil v.s. Garagrim
The Black Knight v.s. Malystryx (seems strangely stolen from dragonlance...O.o)
So anyway, I've already rolled two of the battles, just gotta roll the last two and we'll get on to the next round. Hope y'all are feelin' lucky.

I accept your challenge! let the fight begin! (once we have enough people)
KaelTheFurious - October 28, 2004 10:02 PM (GMT)
All the rolling for the battles has been made. Now you guys can proceed to place bets on who won each fight...and the winner of the betting place can...well, they just get pride. You have 48 hours to do so. All the fights will be typed up by then.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The sun was shining brightly on that rather hot summer day. The win was just a breeze however, and despite the heat many people were gathered together into one spot, making the temperature seem worse than it really was. There was a messenger, putting up posters of a new challenge that was about to be held. The winner would receive honour, women (or men) and above all…a large sum of gold that would leave them quite well set for the rest of their (more than likely short) lives. The group of eight champions, each from a different part of the world (excluding the two elven princes), that heeded to this call was each personally transported there by a personal dragon (ooooh…ahhhh). This display of power was of course to show the contestants that, no matter who they bested in the fights, they should not become so cocky as to challenge the holder of such an arena.
When the warriors all arrived, each in their own way, they might behold the arena in awe, or in disgust. It was a heavenly like thing, larger in height than 5 dragons from tail to snout, and inside it was perhaps 3 dragons in diameter. As they entered, they were each taken to their own personal rooms. However, they all ate meals together in a magically protected room where no one could harm one another…this would be the place where challenges would be carried out. None of them had been introduced to one another yet, but dinner would be soon…
Aesgareth - October 29, 2004 12:04 AM (GMT)
Oh; I thought it was one of those 300 point arenas where you can keep take more than 100 as long as you remain under 300.
KaelTheFurious - October 29, 2004 12:10 AM (GMT)
No...sorry about that. =x I thought I said that at the beginning, my bad.
I'll prolly be hosting another arena after this one is finished in a while, you can join if you want? Really sorry if there were more people willing to join and make 16 on this site I'd have ya...
Anyway, my last post of the day.

Oh yeah I'm changing my character to because I happened to realize how underpowered he is. But don't think that is bad...but um, the fight with him and the elf lord was rolled and he won, but I still want to change it. So as of now the fights that were done are nullified...even though I didn't post them, and I'm changing my character...yeah, I'm fickle, sue me.
As far as the character I'm entering now instead...

Sorry about the double post, but I gotta say somethin'.
Since none of you have challenged and the 24 hours is up I'm just going to randomly select the fighters to go against eachother again.
And here it is.
1 - The Black Knight of Mousillon v.s. Kjarl
2 - Kael v.s. Kih-ti.
Winners of these two go against eachother (obviously).
Luc_Arkhame - November 9, 2004 05:28 PM (GMT)
A question to Kjarl, I just noticed that your char has the Runeshield and the Helm of Many Eyes, are they both pieces of magical armour, or is the Helm an enchanted item, because if they are both armour, wouldn't that make them illegal to both have?
Oh, and by the way, YOU'RE GOING DOWN!
LordKjarl - November 9, 2004 06:06 PM (GMT)
the helm is an enchanted item

KaelTheFurious - November 11, 2004 08:00 PM (GMT)
Actualyl as a matter of fact I'm going to be starting another one shortly, only it's going to be heroes instead of lords this time. It's going to be a leagu too, instead of an arena. That way it lasts longer, gives people chances to enter characters at any time etc etc.
